I've been to a few CGs where part of the rules are not just 10 years or newer, but require a RVIA sticker.

I don't think Nexus would make a vehicle that isn't up to RVIA standards. Their reputation is far better than that. I'm sure they can send a replacement sticker if needed.

Have you called Nexus and asked them to email you the spec/build sheet ?
I did for one (2012) I found and it did not have it listed on the invoice.
On a 2013 Nexis I was looking at it was on the invoice and charged $100. for it.

That sticker doesn't mean squat in Michigan. When I insured it, my State Farm agent apparently didn't care either. X2

I find that I want/need to get up on the roof of our RV a couple times a year. I do a quick inspection to check for cracks, and I will scrub down the roof a couple of times per season as well. I'm not feeble, but I don't know of an easy way to get up there without the attached ladder in the back. I would not want to try to transfer from a ladder next to the RV. In a few years, I will want to enternabond the seams, and I will need roof access for that. IMHO, it is a necessity.

It's pretty handy having a ladder. I've never heard much of rvia in our area (Northwest). Honestly, if you are comfortable with it then go for it!

The RVIA sticker is placed on a unit to show that the manufacturer of that unit built that unit to a set of standards put in place by the RVIA, using ANSI and NEC codes for the safety of the end user. The RVIA has inspectors that tour a production plant several times a year, unannounced, to check things on the production line. If a production plant has too many non-compliances, the right to put stickers on can be removed.

That sticker doesn't mean squat in Ohio. When I insured it, my State Farm agent apparently didn't care either.

Sort of like the Dearborn Truck Plant sticker on my pickups.

Personally, I'd contact Nexus with the VIN and see if it originally had one, and if so (I'm guessing it did) is there a way to get a duplicate to stick on.
Cheers!

Run away from this scam/deal as fast as you can! Without the sticker my imaginary friend at DMV says you'll get 10 years in the pokey without it.
Oh and you'll never be able to register it too !

NOW
Tell me where this illegal non stickered 24P is and I'll deal with it ! ๐Ÿ™‚

No No really don't thank me for saving you the hardship and stress you will endure if you go through and buy it, really there's no need to.
Your welcome in advance !!

Just tell me where it is !!! lol

My State Farm agent also wanted a picture of the certification sticker. Told me another customer didn't have one. The manufacturer made him take it to a dealer and have it inspected and pay a hefty fee for both the inspection and sticker.

Well, all I can say is that when I run the unit through it's yearly State inspection, they look at the RVIA sticker. Don't know what would happen if there wasn't one, but I'd rather not have to worry about it.

If you like at some of the RV builders web site under specs you will find the RVIA sticker is a option or is part of some packages. In some cases it says that for some areas it is required. I believe on our spec sheet it showed it under options.

I wouldn't be a bit concerned about a missing RVIA sticker. For all we know, the previous owner removed it. I don't think you can ever come up with an incident where not having the sticker caused anyone any legal problems. I believe it is a voluntary organization and carries no legal weight. Similar to the Energy Star certification on appliances. It is possible that a RV park would use the lack of an RVIA certification as a reason to exclude an undesirable rig, but that would happen with a home-built rig, not a mass produced RV.
As for the ladder, I have heard from several of our guests that manufacturers are eliminating ladders from the production runs. If you look at a standard ladder at home depot, the dozen or so warning stickers will give you the reason why. Some dufus has probably sued a manufacturer when they fell of an ice covered rung during a snowstorm. No ladder, no liability.

Hmm, I peeled mine off, it was ugly. No one, insurance or DMV, has ever asked about it on any of my RV's for the last 10 years. Traded them in without the sticker too, no problems.

I cant say much on the RVIA cetification sticker as necessity to license your unit as an RV,but Insurance may be a problem.

When I went to insure my RV at AAA The agent read a list of questions from a computer screen, ya that type of world,Year, model etc,etc.......
one was if It had a RVIA sticker. They also took pictures of it,inside and outside.including a closeup of the sticker.

It may or may not had anything to do with me getting insurance or not,but I did have to have it on premises for inspection and photos.

It may only be my insurance company but you never know.

I would suggest asking your insurance company about it before I bought it.
