Hi everyone,

I just completed a one month road trip to south Florida in my 2008 Roadtrek 170. I made 28 blog posts during the trip. The last one is some notes about the trip, including a small section on "van living". I thought some of you might be interested.

Here's a link to the final post: http://gregfuller.com/?p=1441

Thanks everyone for your kind and encouraging comments. I'll be heading out for another road trip next month, and plan to keep my blog updated.

I had the RT-170 for 4 months. One night I got claustrophobic! I now have a 2013, 24' Born Free and couldn't be happier! It's perfect!

Wonderful report. If it works for YOU, it works. Many of us started out in tents and the great transition to tent trailers. These B rvs, all of them. are pure luxury. How much space do we need if we are outside a lot anyway.

Yes, just Siri and me. I think a real couple might be ok in a 190, but not a 170. Since I'm 5'8" I could sleep side to side and didn't have to use the table to fill the gap in the "u" to make the full bed. I did cut a 1 x 4 the length if the gap so I could just pull the rear cushion forward a little to widen the area, and be instantly ready for sleeping.

He wasn't alone. Siri went with him.

Did I miss it, you are single correct. I think it's an ideal size for a single person. Not so much for a couple. However I did read someplace where a couple were full timing in a 170.

Great trip! Didn't take you long to figure out the versatility of a Class B. You are free as a bird.

Very good reading. I've wondered how hard it would be to go on a long trip in a smaller van, especially a 170 Versatile. I wonder if it was cramped, or was usable.

Thank you very much for posting this. I enjoyed reading about your adventures especially after looking outside at the Wisconsin snow piles.
