I'm headed to Phoenix for the March NASCAR race. I've been there for races but have never brought the Coach. Does anybody know where I can find a camping site map that shows the actual space numbers? The speedway just shows the lots by name with no numbers. There was a NASCAR camping forum out there but it seems to be offline or down all together. Speedway claims they don't put that out. Any help would be appreciated.

have to chime in here 🙂 we don't have the reserved spots, we go waaaayyy out. There are trams that take you to the track. 2 years ago, I was coming out of our cargo trailer, and my foot caught on the edge, and I fell, cracking my 4th metatarsal (found this out after an x-ray later that day). The day of the race, I was helped on the tram, and at the end, they called someone to come get me, and I got help all the way to the seats. He wheeled me up the escalators to my seat. that track is a fun, well organized event. We're out in the loud area, but I think it's fun. 🙂 We line up the Monday before the race (the "staging" area)

We have been looking at the parking spots the overlook the PIR for sometime now. Have not found out how to reserve them. I believe that some type of promoter is reserving them, and them moving MHs onto the spots, and renting them, for a rather high price. I have not been able to get anyone who know for sure, to admit to this, but just around the back door sort of information. Before PIR was purchased the "Track Owners", who every they may be, you could get information from them about such matters.

I'm not sure how any of this helps the OP, but what are your "MOST SPEEDWAYS"?

I've been to Michigan and Chicago.

In both cases, EVERY on premise site, infield or not, is specifically reserved.

Well...ONLY from Experience at the Watkins Glen, NY Racetrack (camping) up there, there are two sections. "Family" and....everyone else. "Family" has quiet hours...seems to be a bit more civilized and the "everyone else" is simply PARTY TIME! If you want fun (booze and more?) and absolutely minimal sleep..."everyone else" is for you. Been there, done both. Never saw any real trouble at either.

Phoenix MIGHT be the same way. Don't know. Personally, I might go for the "reserved' sections (I'm somewhat older now....). How about that section where the motorhomes overlook the track ? THAT looks very interesting. Probably VERY $$$ too! Let us know.

I am going to the race also, my first. I have got disability tickets and use an electric chair. They assured me guest services will pick me up from campsite and take me where I want to go. I am staying across the road from gecko flats in the unreserved section. But now looking at the map right side up I'm a bit concerned. Any advice would be helpful. Should I just get a reserved site? Yeah...that track is kinda confusing....we were there (no racing) some years ago in February....just to see the track and maybe buy a momento or two. I really wanted a Phoenix Raceway jacket....but...the track was closed....and unlike Daytona, for instance,no store...and the main office was some 5 miles away! The security guy at the only open gate told us there were tours available, and gave us directions to the office. Got there, met the tour guide...and lucky us....we could join up with a group already scheduled!

Look HERE for maps. Scroll down to find the section you are in, and then click to download a PDF file. Looks like they all have the site numbers, but you have to zoom in to read them.

Hope this is what you need.

Go Smoke! No. 14 is no. 1!

On Edit: Just noticed that the detail map for "gecko flats" is upside down from the overview maps. Really confusing!!

I have already purchased the site and it is a reserved spot with a specific number. I have spaces at Las Vegas Speedway every year and have a reserved spot/number so thought Phoenix would be the same.

Maybe you could contact (phone/e-mail) the track management itself. That being said, in all probability one should reserve a site at the track anyway.
They do have many types of sites...from over-looking the track itself (W & E...sewer, I'm not sure of) all the way to primitive.
Go to the website. All the phone numbers are there. (Or should be)
g'luck!
