One or both low drain valves not closed? Water pump may be located near the fresh water tank. Ours is under the rear dinette seat. There is a filter device in the tubing that goes from the water tank to the pump that can be opened up and cleaned of sediment. It could be that the water pump actually is shot. Not hard to replace if you install the same or similar amp draw rated pump. If you upgrade to a larger capacity pump for more water pressure, you may need to install heavier guage wiring or an Intellitec pump controller device if you don't already have one installed. If you are not handy, perhaps have an RV repair diagnose problem and fix it

Most likely because the pump was filled with air then you would need to open a faucet to allow air to flow so as to allow the pump to prime. JMO

Currently RV-less but not done yet.

Like others have said, proper valving, and possibly the the pump suction screen is clogged with fine particulate. The screen would be right before the pump. JMO

Water in tank?
Fill valve in correct position, if equipped.
Low point drains closed?

If you have just dewinterized, that is likely the problem.

might need to be primed, place hose in city water connection and get water in the lines,by running the water through. then shut off city connection and try the pump. We had that problem once and it fixed it.

Take the screens off ALL of the faucets and clean them.
Actually take the screens off and turn the water on FIRST. I.E. you have water coming out then the screens are plugged.

And yes it is possible for each and every screen hole to be plugged with fine sand and make it appear your pump is not working. Been there done that and still don't believe it can happen. And "I" called out RV Mobile Repair to find out that little tid bit. :R

Some water pumps have a VALVE between the fresh water tank and a hose you can stick down bottle of RV Antifreeze.

Perhabs the VALVE for this is in the wrong direction and not pulling water from the fresh water tank...

My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - Words in CAPS does not mean I am shouting

could also be winterizing valves switched - whereas the pump is trying to draw from the winterizing fill tube, if equipped.

As to "where to find it" ... depends on what RV you have? Most of the time they're pretty close to the fresh water tank. On my old Tioga C, the pump was under the fold out sofa (others might be under the dinette).

It can be.. If the pump ingests any kind of debris it will act like that. I've always been able to fix them by taking the head apart, rinsing the parts off and then re-assembling.

It could be a clog in the pump? I would remove the pump and bench test it.
