Rigs with twin beds like the Via

My wife loves the Winnie VIA 25, both it and our "A" have them and I was wondering if any small C's from say the 2005 era had twins. We started using separate beds years ago when we were traveling, both much happier that way. King size in the S&B and queen in the ski area condo.

The VIA is nice and it is pretty inside but very expensive. Saw one the other day 2010 I think, $90,000 plus. 2013's at the Pomona show started at $95,000. Looking for something cheaper, ergo the 2005 area.

Nexus Rv has a couple of models which offer twin bed configurations. The Viper 28V comes standard with the twin bed setup. The Phantom 28P utilizes the walk around queen bed arrangement as standard, but it can be changed to a twin bed layout. The viper is what is termed anymore as a Class B+ while the Phantom is a Class C.

My Concord has twin beds. One of the reasons we bought it.

I've been wanting a 2551 or 2552 ever since that floor plan was offered.
If twin beds were our thing, and our garage could handle the length, I'd invest in a 2552, no slideout with dinette....basically the twin bed version of our 2350. With no slideout, the dinette is nicely sized and you also get the slideout pantry.

Having that relaxing Euro chair in the 2552 is also very good to have. We have a 3rd captain seat, basically offering a similar relaxing place to watch a movie. But unlike the Euro chair, our captain seat offers a very safe (with seat belt & bolt-down) and comfortable transit seat for a third person.

We love our dinette, though the masses prefer the couch and table in a slideout. My wife and I obviously don't think like most others.

When I was looking about 2 years ago I found a few Winnies in the 2001 to 2005 that had the twin beds. There were others too.

On Craigslist I put 2001 0r what ever year I wanted then Winnebago or what ever brand I wanted in the search line and used La or Orange county or San Diego or what ever area I wanted to look and they came up.

I was surprised at the amount of them at that time That had twin beds.

Hope this helps.

We have twins in our Evergreen Ever-lite 29FK and love them. Would like to see more rigs with Twin XL beds.

Good luck in your search.

Born Free once had a floorplan that's only 22' and was called the Built for Two. It had two sofas opposite each other that were also twin adjustable beds.

Apparently they don't make it anymore but the earlier models are still running including the 2005s. It had a rear door entry. You can see a vid of the interior of one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEQua-8KQfU

There were 28-30 foot rear-queen floor plans from Coachmen, FourWinds, Winnebago and maybe Forest River and Gulfstream that had a rear-twin or rear-single option, moving the wardrobe between the beds. These were almost always no-slide in that era, and were sold mostly into the rental market.

Some actually had bunks, four beds in the back, usually the narrower single rather than twin. Often, the longer single used for barracks and hospital bedding.

Of course, these aren't "small" for a C. You need 28' length to install permanent full-length fore-aft beds in the back, have full bath and a reasonable kitchen, and have both sofa and dinette up front. This was all something the "family of 6-8" rental market required.

Anything smaller I've seen with separate beds, the beds were convertible space. In addition to the cited Phoenix Cruiser and LazyDaze floorplans, there was at least one BT Cruiser floorplan with two sofas converting to two beds, and there may have been one in Forest River's Lexington line. I remember seeing them because we were looking at that coach size, trying to find a queen.

You may also find some B van conversions with a pair of fore-aft single beds (converting from seating). I remember seeing these in somebody's conversions of the first generation Sprinter, which had the length to do it, and was slightly narrow to try fitting a full-length bed east-west. Airstream Interstate had a twins model for sure, and maybe F-R's MB-Cruiser. The Gulfstream Cruisers I remember had cutouts above the belt line to install a bulge that let them install a full or queen crosswise.

Phoenix Cruiser and Lazy Daze come to mind. You sound like us, we like the same units. A Via/Reyo is on our short list. Twins in an RV make a lot of sense IMO. Much more versatile.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.

We own a 2007 Phoenix Cruiser model 2350 and find it a good value for the money spent. Nice engineering, design and workmanship. And good customer service regardless how old it is and where you live. I've noticed they don't depreciate as badly as some other mhs. I've been wanting a 2551 or 52 ever since that floor plan was offered. It's on my Lottery List: things I'll buy if I ever hit the Lottery.:R

There always seems to be a few used twin bed Phoenix Cruiser 2551 models for sale somewhere around the country. Used 2552 and larger twin bed models are more expensive because most have not gotten old enough to come down in price much yet.

Some of the Phoenix Cruiser floorplans have twins. You might want to check their inventory periodically for a deal on a used one.

Those twins are nice, especially in the shorter Cs and Mini-As.
