Are there any Higher end rv resorts in the pigeon forge/gatlingburg area? I am looking for something (2 year old) kid friendly, closer to town, full hook ups, pool, etc. We plan to go in the early to mid may time frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure why my previous post did not come up but here it goes again. A new Resort will open this March in Dandridge on Hwy 139 out of Sevierville. Anchor Down is the name. Pretty nice if I do say so. We drove thru it and it is a resort. Right on Douglas Lake. Check it out. Larry

We've been thinking of buying property on Douglas Lake, and will probably make this our spring break destination this year. Thanks for posting this!

I'm a Two River Landing person to answer your "HIGHER END" portion of your request...however that's where the match ends...Two Rivers is an amazing RV park...you PULL INTO your site with your coach and have the river in front of you...however...having a 2 year old would probably scare the bejezous out of me on those sites...

Closer into town...River Plantation is a great suggestion...BUT...I have read/heard/seen that is it darn near impossible to turn ACROSS the road there when trying to leave and make a left hand turn heading into Pigeon Forge...I guess you could always turn right and go to the next location to make a U-turn...

River Plantation has been on our list but never stayed there.

Twin Creek is a fine place but not in Pigeon Forge as it is actually in Gatlinburg...just off the main strip...we've stayed there and the owners are top notch...treated us exceptionally well...trolley stop right at CG...but in Gatlinburg...

There are seemingly countless other choices in that area...but 'HIGHER END' I believe you are limited depending on your definition of 'HIGHER END'...to me...that definition is Two Rivers and River Plantation...but my definition may vary from yours...there are some very nice places in that area none-the-less...so I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for.

It is a great place to visit though...we love the Smokies!!!

Good luck with your search.

Twin Creek in Gatlinburg. Very nice place, full service, just at the edge of Gatlinburg, trolley stop right in front.

I like Gatlinburg proper way better than pidgeon forge or Sevierville.
It's a good place to park the car and walk, you don't have to drive everywhere.

High end, The Dell in Sevierville, 2nd place would be Two River and in 3rd place, but a really nice park is Pine Mountain in Pigeon Forge. Two River is located on the very outskirts of the area and commuting back and forth the the Pigeon Forge attractions could be fun with the traffic. Pine Mtn is served by the Fun Time Trolley in Pigeon Forge.

Pine Mountain has an INDOOR pool and hot tub. If you are going at the end of May, you probably can't use an outdoor pool.

PM is our favorite in the area and we have camped in at least 8 other campgrounds in the area.
