Of course we can't cover every possibility of fire in a RV but we can try. The percentage of RVs that are consumed in fire is very small when compared to the number of RVs still on the road. I'd almost bet that its the same numbers when compared to stick and brick homes, percentage wise.

Right on the front of the converter is a sticker that says:
"Blocking the fan can cause a fire".

WHICH I showed and told my RV guest numerous times to please STOP blocking the converter with their bags of clothes obviously to no avail. :R

Since that near catastrophe? Now it's no more mr nice guy. My rules my MH. Don't follow them you are out at the next exit! :B

Get a muffin fan as in a PC. Wire it so that as long as the inverter has juice the fan runs...period. Fan shuts off when there is no power coming thru it

While these are a great idea, that might be the worst place for it. There is a post over on iRV2 showing a totaled MH with Halon installed and the bottle never went off because there was never enough heat down low and this one started higher up. I talked to Mac the Fire Guy about this in Q and he said they never really figured out the point of failure but it wasnt in the normal place.

I have the same Halon only standing up but its on the opposite side from the burner and may have the same issue. After that fire post I installed a second one at the top of the fridge cavity.

i was gonna ask this very question - of evidence where a fire had been halted using one of these kits (cause the kits seem pricey) !

Looks like the jack are down and power plugged is so the cause could be just about anything.

I was under the impression fridge problem typically occurred when operating on gas since there is an ignition source when the burner is firing.

wow that's some picture! Looks like it was parked at home on a residential street? After seeing so many of these pictures AND seeing them on the side of the road during my travels. Once I went full time I have to admit I was always thinking of my MH catching fire. 😞
