I have a 99 Fleetwood Discovery DP. I have driven there with a car a few times, but his will be different. How would you go (route) and where would you stop. We will drive 300-350 miles a day or maybe longer.

X2 on kalynzoo's recommendations. You might also consider Wine Country RV Resort on HWY 46 in Paso Robles as a base camp for that area and Coyote Valley RV Resort on HWY 101 just south of San Jose as a stopover point.

x2 on wine country and on moss landing koa.

The coastal route is the best way to go if you are vacationing. If you are in a hurry, just go I5 and cut across at the San Luis Reservoir.

If you go the Coastal route, you will not make 300 to 400 miles per day, impossible and you would not want to as you would miss the beauty.

Here is a link to our Blog from 2011. The first entry starts from just north of LA. You can move down the see our route the previous day. It was quite a pleasant trip.

Be aware that it won't be an inexpensive trip. The Vines RV Park wants anywhere from $60 to $80 per night; the Moss Landing KOA is around $75 per night; the Santa Cruz KOA is $83 per night; and the Petaluma KOA is a bargain at $61 per night!

Still cheaper than most Hotels and you have your own kitchen and bath, and you sleep in your own bed.

It is an easy day trip if you go up I5 and cut over North of Stockton. I have heard you can park at Harris Ranch overnight if you don't want to do it in one day. We do the trip from North of Sacramento a total of 450 miles in a day easily.

The whole route is less than 400 miles, guessing about 380, so you could do it in a long day. I have a few times in the MH. I prefer to make at least one stop, but there is plenty to see making it a week long drive. Wine tasting, the aquarium, shopping, if you have a tow car you can take a day trip from Paso Robles through Morro Bay and up Highway-1 through Big Sur. Don't do this in the motorhome. I have, it is shear cliff dropoffs, two lanes, very twisty, and traffic coming at you on turns so tight you can see your own tail-lights.
But some of California's most beautiful seashore, and not a long drive in the car. Also the 17 Mile Drive in Carmel is a beautiful day drive in the car.
Enjoy.
