Today, I did a stupid thing, and forgot to retract the TV antenna before moving the coach. Predictably, I broke it on a tree branch while still in my own driveway. Swearing ensued, and all was wasted as the tire guy apparently thought that I was going to call him a day before bringing the coach down, while I thought we were set for today. So, it was broken for no reason whatsoever. More swearing ensued.

Shopping for a base plate for my truck netted me to an RV place in Ft. Worth. I ordered the base plate, bought another antenna, and stopped by another RV place a few blocks up the road for a new windshield washer bottle. I got home to find that my replacement headlight had arrived as well.

Starting at 1800 this evening, I replaced the broken antenna with an amplified one, installed the new headlight, and replaced the broken windshield washer reservoir. The front TV now receives most of the DFW area channels, the rear one still does not get anything, so I need to do more troubleshooting on that one.

Oh yes, I almost forgot. I cleaned out the throttle body in the hopes that this will fix an annoying backfiring problem.
Tires go on tomorrow.

Put new springs on the passenger rear jack. Replaced the fluorescent fixture above the kitchen sink and replaced the bedroom light fixture as well as installed a wall switch for it. DW doesn't have to climb into the middle of the bed anymore to reach the light. I don't know who decided to put a light in the center of the bed anyway? Short gals like my wife can never reach them.

Also put some new restraint bars in the fridge and medicine cabinet. Getting her ready for another 4 day run end of this week.

What I did to my MH today. Sounds like that essay we all had to write as kids.

But, I installed a vent cover and two exhaust extensions. One was a requirement since I turned the genset exhaust to the side, the ohter is just window dressing, but a stainless extension looks a lot better than that piece if exhaust pipe.

I also think I have figured out where to install the sewer hose storage pipe. I might have to make my own as I need a couple very subtle bends and the ones you buy don't have a good way of attaching other than to a flat surface at each end.

Well, since I just got my 07 Safari Simba DP a couple of weeks ago, there's been some things that I've wanted to do.....so today I started on them. I re-routed the BBQ propane pipe closer to the door. Also moved the central vac canister so I can store the BBQ in that compartment. Made some brackets that the BBQ fits in so it won't move around. Also fixed the shower door rollers, installed the receiver portion of my SMI stay n play tow brake, hard wired it, so won't have to plug into the cigrette lighter. That was enough for today.

Whew! Am I bushed. This weekend I:

Friday I picked it up after getting the air-brakes serviced (dryer)and a faulty ride leveler replaced.

Then, on Saturday
Washed Top to Bottom
Waxed the whole coach
Polished the rims
RainX'd the front windows
Topped off fluids

Today I caulked the external weathered seams

And... had my Progressive Energy EMS save me from low voltage (98V)

Now.... a Gin and Tonic!

Replaced all water filters, got ice maker going, replace engine air filter. When we started in 78 having an ice maker was a figment of my imagination. Think we had a 6 cu. ft.

Oil, lube and filter change on Wednesday, 24 quarts of 15 W 40 with almost 3 qts. in the Wix extended drain (XD) filter. About 25 zerk fittings. Still need to do the steering column under the boot, inside. Recharged the dash A/C on Thursday, 3 cans. Today or tomorrow is the fuel filter. Later this summer is the trans fluid, but I need to do some research about synthetic VS. regular trans oil to see which I am going to do?

Ok, Ill have a bunch of pics to post later this week but Im off work for all of next week. I have an anbitous schedule.

Today:
I finished my tile backsplash in the kitchen.
Im buffing out my counters in the bathroom/s and going to tile the back splashes in there.

I also started on fixing my body damage on the drivers side slide when my slide top awning froze up in 18 below weather and ripped off the top and dog eared the corners of the slide. Ive fixed that and its almost ready for paint.
Plan is to paint and repair that and also paint the stripes
on the sides of the slides to match the paint on the coach. this should give it a higher end look. Ive gotten pretty good with a paint gun painting on my race car.

Lastly, Im going to paint my race trailer a sold color to match the coach and may even put one swirl of anothr color to match the coach. Lots to do. Lets see how much of it I actually get done. Ive got 11 days off. Yea.

Went after the Alcoa's this week, before rain, as they were all mainly stained with running mark's and water spotting etc, cleaner & polish would not touch it, used Never-Dull metal cleaner/polish, very pleased and surprised at the outcome, then put a coat of Protect-all on them to avoid rain spots that night.

Then pulled out the bent Antenna gear shaft from above, pretty easy, straightened it, put it back good spray of Silicone and it works like new.

Had some rain water in a trough just inside of windshield, so checked the 5 marker lights on the roof, all were showing signs of water/condensation under lens cap, removed, cleaned up ground contacts, replaced with caulk seal, need to go back and remove complete light assembles to clean and recaulk their seating aswell, only 3 years old, but orig caulk is brittle. Arizon sun???

Power Gear Auto leveling, the Jack's Down light stays on after retracting the jacks, researched on Forum & Power Gear, instructed to ck oil level, system needed about 2/3 quart of trans fluid in vertical reservoir, now she works!

Found the proper RCA dual red/white jacks/to single pin jack to Ipod, great having 2,500 tunes to selectively listen to when coasting down the road. Much better than a 10 disc player.

Well, that's it for now, we'll see what tomorrow brings, I keep digging and fine tuning every system and detail, door entry handle may have a courtesy light which does not work, sounds easy enough to do. Ha, really there aren't any small projects are there?
Edouard.

You haven't seen fur untill you've had two Great Pyrenees along for the ride. :E :B

Unfortunately, they chose to blow coat at the same time as the trip. I was throwing away hair by the bag ful at the campsite, and STILL managed to get clumps of hair everywhere in and out of the coach. I apologized profusely to the campground management over the mess I left. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Replaced a bad selonoid for the driver side front jack. Had to do this about a month ago (same jack). The selonoid was under warranty so that is good but if it happens again going to have to have the system looked at. That particular jack doesn't want to show as stored even though it appears all the way up.
