What do you usually have to pay for annual service to DP?

I have a DP with a 350 HP diesel. Just did my annual maintenance at my local Cat dealer. Just wondering what others pay for the service.

This did not include the Onan genny.

Whew, glad I have a gas unit. Usually cost me about $24 for the oil, $3 for the oil filter, $1 for the grease, I do that every 5k. Worse place that I've had to do it is along the road in Alaska, stupid bear kept trying to play with me while I crawling around under the coach. Fan clutch failed, $69 for a new one. Thank you Autozone and Napa for a lifetime warranty.

Basically. I paid for a total of four filters, 5.8 gallons of oil, lub job. I think there are two oil filters, one fuel filter and one air filter. Two hrs, labor was added and the total was $386.

I just had a sense of security (false or not), knowing the mechanic was a caterpillar mechanic who knew what he was doing.

I was not surprised, just curious to compare with what others have paid. I bought the coach used and it was serviced for the previous owner exactly one year ago by the same shop.

Know where all your lube points are, zerk fitting and spot check. I had one on my fan shroud hub that was being over looked because you could only access it through the bed room closet floor. I remind them every time and let them know I will put the floor cover back on, leave it off. Make sure you know what's being done and doesn't hurt to spot check. Your price seemed about right.

X2 on the Fan Hub Bearing, mine was neglected by previous owners and Maint techs and on our first long trip across the US it failed at 37,000 miles and cost about $1700 in repairs and a 3 day breakdown in a parking lot in Mobile AL in JULY! Luckily we didn't loose the radiator.

You did great! Tell you wife you did great! Believe me when I say you did great! Unless you are among the small minority who are able to do the work themselves (or have any interest in doing it themselves) you paid a very reasonable amount.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

I had Speedco change oil and oil filter, chassis lube for the 8.3 cummins engine and oil and filter in Onan generator. $250.00. I provided a water fuel filter @ $50.00 cost and gen air filter for $25.00. My eng air filter cost $125.00 but only change it every 3-4 yrs.

In the Freightliner maintenance manuals, there is a list of all the points that are supposed to be lubricated each year. I have all of those in a spreadsheet and when I go and have my work done, I give the shop the list and have them check off each one and sign at the end that all of it was done. This goes in my records. At least I have done my best to be sure it was all done.

Not all service is annual. Tranny fluid (Transynd) and coolant (ELC) have a much longer service life. I figure to have each service done about 400.00. I use CAT for oil and coolant, and Cummins for the tranny.

I do my own oil changes and lubricate all zerk fittings. The oil is Rotella five gallons from Walmart around $70.00, Napa oil filter for around $35.00. So all together I imagine about $150.00 doing the work myself. Fairly easy if you live in an area that will allow you to do your own service. Lot of places will not allow you to do anything to your coach.

The air filter is not changed annually. It is changed accordingly. It it is dirty, it is time to change it and I purchase it through the internet from RACOR. Cost is around $114.00

About $250 for the annual; two fuel, one oil, lube and inspection.

The five year is about $2000; all fluids, belts, aircleaner.

Independent shop $80/hr labor.

Freightliner Orlando is something like $130 hour.

I do my own service, buy my filters online, watch oil sale prices (Rotella T only) and own several grease guns(1 air powered). That said it runs about $150 -200 for chassis lubing, an oil change and changing out all filters except the intake air filter. Takes me about 2 hours from start to finish with everything cleaned up and put away. I look the whole underside over while doing it.

First year service for my FL chassis is quite involved. I have two tech's that moonlight and have been servicing my coach's for almost 10 years now. I had $475 in OE fluids/filters and $200 labor. This included a PM on the engine & genny and about two pages of additional things to check/service.
