New RV'ers looking for a good grill recommendation

Hi all! Picking up our 36' tiffin allegro class A on Friday. We are looking for ideas on what grill to use? We will have pretty good storage space but don't need a monster grill. Most of our camping will be 2 or 3 people.

Thoughts?

We use our Q1000 at home. We have a Coleman Road Trip for the road. We like both. Road trip has 2 burners.

If you mean the Napolean we looked at those. The Weber has better construction and at the same price. We have terrific heat control on ours.

I have considered one of the grill boxes as our Weber Q has been dying for a couple years now. We like to grill rib eyes and burgers (among other things) so the grill box might not be a good choice for us.

The heat plates burn up the fat. But I never grill anything very greasy. I cook lean. I also usually Sous Vide my proteins and just use the grill to char the outside so the fat is left in the bag.

Bubba Burgers might be a problem.

With the Camp Chef grill box, where does the grease go? Seems like it would be a huge mess.

The size of grill that it takes up to the space it takes in the RV.

Its Napolean. A little turned off by the steel base.

Not sure how its more versatile than a Camp Chef. I have a pizza oven I can put on, take it off and put a grill on one side and fry or boil a pot on the other burner or convert it to a half or full size griddle.

I have quit taking my Weber Q since I got the Camp Chef.

I'm thinking of also getting rid of my 2 burner CampChef cook top. Because the Neapolitan is so versitial.

In the past 50 or so years, I have gone through a lot of grills, both charcoal and gas. I've tried getting the cheaper one s and one of the more expensive ones, like a Ducane. I knew I was in trouble with my Blue Rhino grill when the Blue Rhino emblem fell off. I bought my first Weber gas grill, a Silver, when Service Merchandise went out of business. After about 4.5 years, I had a problem with it, Weber sent me a new part ASAP...Great company. After using one of the smaller Weber Q's, I gave my Weber Silver to my daughter and bought a large (320 or something) Q for the house. I now own 3 Q's, the large one for the house, the 100 in the camper and a 120 at our place in Florida. IMHO this is the best engineered grill ever made. Although I will note that the Q models are not warrantied as long as the Silver ones.

We've got a volcano stove that fits all of our requirements. It uses charcoal, wood & propane! We've also used it for a small campfire after dinner. Works great as a grill, but shines when combined with a DO. I haven't tried it yet, but it can be used for baking etc. https://www.volcanogrills.com/

For the rainy days, you can use the NuWave Oven to BBQ (Cook) inside. Plus, it does not heat up your RV inside.

The Davy Crocket was abut 1/2 the price of others and had more features. If you like smoked meat and travel in an RV, I recommend it.

Storage space is an important consideration for me since I have no garage or attic space. I do have 75 cubic ft storage space in the apartment bldg's basement but given the dimensions and frigging cost (Yes. This annoys me), I'm big on multi tasking appliances. Were this not important to me I'd not salivate, merely buy the Davy Crockett :cool:.
