The only advantage I see to this is that it appears to be a law work-around. I mean my daughter's old Ghetto beater car has a radio (After market) with an I-Interface (that does not work but I may fix that in a couple months) plus an "AUX-IN" that does work with her I-Phone.
But there are now laws in many areas prohibiting any hand held electronics, (Except for 2-way radios used by police, Hams, Taxi drivers, and many others, which I can tell you are not nearly as distracting as a phone in the hand) so the ability to put the "I" in a glove box and operate it off the vehicles' touch screen (The absolute worst idea any auto maker ever had) gets around this law,, and still provides all the distraction a driver needs to crash and burn.
That is not a feature I will desire in a car.
