Netflix: disappearing movies

I was looking forward to watching the last half-hour of "The Big Short", and when I went to NF to watch, I got an error message saying it wasn't available in the US. I had watched this movie just yesterday.

I like NF, but I hate when that happens. A call to support didn't help any.

You might find this website helpful. It shows what's coming to and leaving Netflix, usually about 30 days before it happens.

What's On Netflix

Thanks. I'll have to get the Gf to find the ones she's had for months and mail them back.

Movies are one thing, series are another.

I understand that folks cannot fully watch a complete movie, but I always do so I have never experienced the frustration that the OP describes. TV series, however, I do not binge watch and I am quire disappointed when one of those leaves netflix somewhere in the middle.

I never got to finish: Quincy, M.E., 3rd Rock from the Sun, M*A*S*H, Emergency.

In many cases NF allows downloading of movies to watch later offline, you may want to do that in the future. BUT when you go to watch them, turn off your wifi or other internet connection so it doesnt "update" and delete the video on you.

So. Have fun doing the research.

That's when we gave up n Netflix. Every country has a different list of movies so when we are overseas, movies we want to watch disappear.

No evil empire stuff, they are simply dealing with the rules of each country and the costs of providing the content.

And most of those BBC shows are much better than the programs on the major networks here in the U.S. which aren't worth watching at all. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Netflix adds a date for when a program will be removed from streaming on your "My List" about a week to 10 days before it goes away. I scroll through my list at least once a week to check. Problem is when you're half way through a series that ran for several years and there is no time to watch it all.

Could try a local library

Or the bargain bin at Wal-Mart

I've used the free app Hola to spoof Netflix so it would think I was in the US while vacationing in Canada so I could get the US Netflix shows rather than the Canadian ones. I've also used it to see some BBC shows while in the US.

How the movie ends: The guys who shorted the real estate portfolios, got very very rich. No one who was at fault for over valuing the portfolios suffered any punishment. The government bailed out the banks. See the wiki wiki link
