I'm also a little north of 250 and hated the bag chairs, They were comfortable but a pain to get out of. I tried a few director chairs and they where easy to get out of but not as comfortable as the bag chairs. (My opinion)

I read a few online reviews that rated the Kijaro chairs very highly. I went to Dicks Sporting and tried the Kijaro XXL Dual Lock Oversized Chair. They fit my need for comfort and ease of use. And they were $39.99 (plus my 20% coupon).

We have the Browning Fireside Camp chairs. They fold up like the bag chairs but are much, much sturdier. They have a lot more support as well.

We bought a pair of Zero Gravity chairs from Gander Mountain like these, except from Gander Mountain. They were on sale for $69 each. We have had them for 5 years now and they are still going strong. They have faded a little since we camp seasonally and they are out all season long.

I can't sit in the folding camp chairs, not comfortable at all. These are great. Worth every penny. They fold down flat enough to store in the camper. They are a little bulky to carry, but doable. I will by another set when these wear out.

I don't know what you are saying here but we also like strongback chairs.

Looks like it was mangled by autocomplete. My best guess is "Bought what we thought were better ones..."

We have the Coleman version of the chair pictured above. They are the best. The last pair lasted 10 years. They will hold a 250 plus person easily.

I finally threw out all the bag chairs I had that were once so popular.

They were hard to get up from and all those cross legs eventually started breaking if not the leg the foot of them came off, could not support heavier people, etc.

I did buy a zero gravity lounger and it lasted one trip. It is VERY heavy, awkward to carry when folded and takes up waay too much room the RV Bay. I gave it away at the first CG I got to!

THIS is what I have now, a directors folding chair. Lightweight, folds flat, sturdy, steel legs, supports your back and more importantly easy to get up and out of. And probably even more important a nice fold out tray with cup holder for your beer!:C

Camping World offers two sizes of this chair.
Something you might want to look into.
It's called the 'big man' version of this same chair.

We have had several brands through the years but everyone's (my family) favorite recliner is made by timber ridge and sold through Costco.

Go places sit in a bunch of them and pick the one you like. Comfortable fit is different for everybody, it's like buying a mattress.

I like the Harbor Freight aluminum director style chair. They're light, sturdy, easy to get out of and with the coupon/ discounts, cheap. Before HF, the Costco chairs were always good, but they change every year.
