drinking water

What do most of you do for drinking water in your RV's? We don't like the idea of drinking the water that has been sitting around in our fresh water tank, so we've kept containers of drinking water in the sinks while we travel and on the counter when we're parked. That's getting to be a nuisance, though. We've seen lots of filters for the water coming in, but then it would still sit in the tank.

Our neighbors use unfiltered water, right out of the tap to make coffee and cook. IN MEXICO!!!!:E Been doing that for 6 years and they haven't been sick yet.

We buy cases of bottled water at Costco and use that for our drinking water supply. It averages 10c a bottle.

So long as the campground water is acceptable, I will make coffee in the morning and/or cook with the city water supply, otherwise, I use water from the tank which I know to be good, sanitary water because I put it there.

I would never put my lips to those samples in the photograph.

DW drives me crazy with this issue...... There's always a case of bottled water laying around the coach. I simply refuse to feed the Marketing Hype that has made the bottled water industry billions of dollars. I drink faucet water and DW drinks the bottled water.

And yes, when I was younger I actually drank from the garden hose in the yard... 😕

When the tap water we have sits in the tank for a bit I think it tastes better.
Our tap water is so loaded with chloramine that it's better to let is "gas-off" before using.

We fill up a 5 gallon container (or 2 depending on the trip) of our home water for drinking and coffee. Where we live we literally have "mountain spring water" coming out of our taps. We bring our own drinking water for the taste, not because we distrust the campground water. We'll cook and clean with our tank or the campground water, but we're very picky about our coffee water.

See what I mean? On our last outing, the CG had a boil water alert. E-coli had been found in the water supply. Even though the CG host and others were using it, I couldn't bring myself to do it. Our well water is delicious.

We take/buy bottled water for drinking and coffee - for the taste and health. I cook in whatever we are hooked up to at CG (with water filter) and make sure the water boils well first.

Both DH and I have had 'squiggly tummies' from drinking CG water despite using a good filter, so no more spoiled vacations for us.

You can get 24 x 16oz bottles for $1.98 from Walgreen's most of the time. That's 8c a bottle or 20c for a pot of coffee.

We use the water in our fresh tank. We prefer it more than trusting any other unknown source. We sanitize the tank at the beginning of the season and the water always tastes fresh and clean.

I prefer to bring 1 or 2 (depending on duration) 20 litre bottles of spring water for coffee, drinking and cooking, and a case of small bottles for walks and drives,

no its not PARANOIA its a matter of sh++ty tasting water in allot of places because of the "walkerton incident" water testing and safety here has been taken more seriously and allot of places that have their own source for water over chlorinates it to the point where a shower you would think you are in a public swimming pool the smell is so strong
I avoid as much as possible drinking "chemically" treated water

some places had to rework their water systems after the incident because with the more stringent testing that "great tasting" water was showing bacteria levels that are not so acceptable.
