Waxing a toilet?

Just bought our first RV, a class B. The fellow at the dealer giving us an orientation to the vehicle recommended putting car wax on the inside of the toilet to help prevent "sticking." I've searched around the web but I couldn't find any chatter on this topic, so I'm hoping to find wise words here before we take our first trip next week. Thanks!

Learned this at my boating club where everyone had porta-potties. Before you go, take 3 sheets of toilet paper and place it across the bottom of the outlet. then place another 3 sheets at a right angle to it. No skid marks-works every time.

Also, (now don't laugh) Spray Pam and Lemon Pledge help too.

Excellent idea. It cuts down on supplies you carry in the RV. You can go directly from cleaning the toilet to frying eggs or dusting. 🙂

My rule is "flush as it drops", and this works in all but "extreme" cases.

15 yo DD has the job of cleaning the bathroom, including the toilet, so she appreciates this rule. 🙂

Never heard of such a practice! We keep a toilet brush beside the toilet. We have a hard and fast rule for the camper... you use it, you brush it... immediately! This works. No need for wax.

I would have asked the salesman to demonstrate the entire process.

Really? That sounds like a joke making the rounds in the salesman's lounge. I can just hear it now - "I just sold another bottle of toilet wax!"

Seriously, you don't need to do this.

Pledge will eventually cause the plastic to deteriorate.

One of our IT techs kept having her phone fall apart. Turned out she was a cleaning freak and used Lemon Pledge to clean it every day.

I have a plastic toilet and yes car wax helps with "sticking". Also, (now don't laugh) Spray Pam and Lemon Pledge help too.

Is it a plastic bowl........then waxing it will help

Is it a porcelain bowl......then waxing it won't hurt

Adding a bit more water to bowl prior to pooping will also help.

Or take a small wad of TP and wipe skid marks off of bowl as you flush.

Adding sprayer and using it to blast away at bowl is good addition. Many times you can add one onto blank stub on toilet vacuum breaker. Just open a hole in stub and install sprayer hose with clamp.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

In the absence of intened laxatives, a large application of beer works well too! Not as gross as waxing the bowl....

In a sense, it sounds logical, but I have never heard of that practice, nor have I ever experienced a need for that over the years. Then again, I recently upgraded to a ceramic bowl unit and it is much nicer in many respects, " sticking " included.
