2 RVs?

We have a trailer and tow vehicle that we love and they work really well for us, but we've been yearning for a small drive-around RV - like a class B - for short 1 or 2 night trips.

We'll be retiring next spring and plan on taking longer trips out west and further south - and we feel we need the comfort and space of our current trailer. But, wouldn't a B be great for day trips and some overnights?

We're waffling about it as there would be more maintenance and obvious extra expenses... It's one of those opportunity cost questions... If we *can* do it, should we?

What do you think? Anyone have 2 RVs used for different situations?

We have a 35 ft 5th whl that we take to Texas for the winter. We recently bought a 24 ft that we are going to use for shorter trips and also thinking about taking the small one to Alaska next summer.

We've met a couple full-timers you have a motorhome and tow a Class B. They use the Class B as their siteseeing vehicle and for one/two-night trips away from their bigger home. Everyone has different ways of RVing, for sure.

Would like to have a truck camper to go alone with the fiver but storage of either of them would be a problem as we're fulltimers.

I had a bumper pull rv along with my gooseneck LQ horse trailer. It worked out good to pull the bumper pull when we were not horse camping and vise versa. BUT, it seems that even if a trailer sits most of the time there is ALWAYS someething to fix.... and unless you equip them both equally with the same stuff you will be spending all your time transferring STUFF from one to the other.
Got tired of it and sold the bumper pull and traded the LQ horse trailer for another one which had some upgrades that we had gotten used to that was in the bumper pull.

I have a a TC and a fifth wheel. We usually use the fiver as it it not overly big, but the TC can go places the bigger one won't.

Yeah that and how you want to spend it:).

We'll be getting a smaller than most people think is normal to short-term fulltime (less than 20') in but I'm convinced it will work for our lifestyle. When we/I want an even smaller footprint, tent camping, seems like it'll work nicely.
