A Sheety Problem

Mattresses squeezed between walls make it very difficult for many of us to change sheets without pulling the mattress down a foot or two. If you've upgraded to memory foam or air mattresses, it's nearly impossible to move them. Not wanting to complain without offering a solution, I hereby issue an order that all RV interior designers must spend one day per model changing the sheets on their pride and joy! :B

Just walked onto a dealer's lot.

Wow! - Not a salesperson in sight...:?

Looked in an RV - two guys making the bed.

First guy said to the other, "This mattress is heavy!"

Second guy said, "No sheet, Larry!"

Expect changes in about five years, Sarge...:W

We have a king size bed at home and in our previous coach we had a full size queen with a really comfy pillow top mattress. When we bought our new coach, it came with a king size Select Comfort that was pinched between the walls. We're not fans of Select Comfort and didn't like it pinching the walls. I removed the king, cut down the frame to a queen and installed a pillow top queen. Even though we loss some bed size, being able to walk around both sides and make the bed easily, was worth it.

It surprises me (in this post) that so many make their beds everyday. There was a post several months ago that asked if people made their bed daily. To my surprise, making our bed daily, put us in the minority.....like 80%-20%. I have a bad back so we always try and make the bed together so it goes quickly.

This was one of the requirements when we went shopping for our new unit, full walk around bed that could be made by one person.

Does the bed really have to be made to boot-camp standards to be functional? Seems you could just poke the sheets in around the sides and call it done.

If you can't do a job right...

Yes, but "right" is such a subjective term. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I keep posting on this Forum the solution to this: Make the bed with a half dozen->dozen sheets. When you want to change one, just pull it off, good to go. :B

Not a new problem.

My TT is a 97 and it's a complete and total pain in the a..Adams apple to do the sheets. I cuss every time I change them. Hemmed in on both ends, one complete side and part of the other. Can't move the mattress out without lifting it over a low cabinet too.
And it was the same on my last TT too. Enough access to climb into the thing but that's it.

Next rig will have a walk around.

We are on trailer #6 in 25 years. Our Augusta Flex is the only trailer we have owned that it is easy to make the bed. About 2" to spare on each side. I can't imagine why so many manufacturer's want to pack the mattress in so tight! What a way to wake up in the morning.

I 2nd the motion.

Hereover...they should also spend a weekend in their design. They cannot leave the rig for a total of 72 hours. That'll help with: tank size. Shower size. Toilet placement. Aforementioned mattress set up. Outlet placement. Tv viewing angles.....I could go on
