Air conditioner wasps

I can’t find anything in the search about this. Has anyone come up with a solution to keep wasps or yellow jackets out of the air conditioner? I found a large nest in mine. I’m thinking about zip tying window screen on the inside of the cover, but don’t want to hinder air flow too much.

Toss a chunk of meat up there and hit em with Raid when they are having a meal.

If you can find the screening they use to make the ones to cover fridge vents and furnace vents, that would be the answer.

I have intended to do something similar for a long time. I would use something with just a little larger holes, and probably not the typical nylon netting that screens are made of. I also considered removing every other vertical slats to open up more room for air flow.
