Which style of RVing do you prefer?

  • Alone - immediate family)?
  • In a group of friends or RV club?
  • A mix of both?

Mostly alone or with immediate family. We've done the group thing and it's hard, or near impossible, to relax.

We like to go alone, but also enjoy going with two close friends, traveling as a group of three.

RVing we are totally different from our boating days. These days we are very much alone on extended multi month trips.

During the boating days, with kids growing up, we were very much weekend warriors always in a group of similar situation like minded weekend warriors. It was rare for us not to be in at least a 4 boat raft up anchored off an island with a beach for the weekend.

Never traveled/camped with a group.
Too free spirited and don't like to plan too far ahead.
Would consider a group camp destination for a few days or more.

Another vote for mix...
- While on the move, we prefer to be on our own as we like to keep travel days to 150-200miles. Most people seem to want to travel 300-500miles a day. Of course, we travel full time so we don't care if it takes us a month to cover 1500 miles.
- What we will do is plan to meet up with people at a destination in a certain time frame. That way we don't feel pressure to push on when we would rather pull in and relax.

We don't know anyone else near us that RV's so we've never traveled with anyone else.
Would like to try it sometime though!

X2, it's easier to stop and look at something interesting, get fuel, go shopping, etc..

My wife and I have a friend that constantly wants to travel with us. He wants to leave together, sightsee together, stop for gas, everything. My problem with him is that he does not get up until 9 or 10, spends a couple of hours getting ready to leave and then takes 45 minutes to get gas.
My wife and I wake up before 6 on our days off, take our time eating and packing up and gone by 7:00. Our gas stops are always under 15 minutes. It is easy to see that this would never work out.

Funny, I know the type as we used to going camping with him years ago, maybe it's the same person and he found you lol.

We are about 50/50 going solo or with others. When we go with others it could be just one other couple (usually my wifes parents) or a large group and we may do things together or do our own things as we usually don't have any sort of set schedule to do things together other than meals. I do though enjoy it when it is just the wife and I as we have a little more freedom to do what we want and when.

Travel is just us alone but we do have regular yearly spots that we have made friends with that we see each year. We donโ€™t really care for groups and planed group itineraries.

If I know the group that is great. If I do not I camp with just the family or solo. I have thin tolerance for loud drunk people late at night

Mixed. Even when we travel with a larger group we don't necessarily travel or stop together. Only thing set is the final destination.
