It's the only way to camp, for me. I get a lot of visitors to see my trailer. If you love them, head to one of the Tin Can Tourists' rallies to take a closer look and see how camping used to be. They are fun to look at.

There is a guy down the street from me that has a late 50's F-100 panel truck and a 50's GMC carryall school bus and he also has 3-4 classic trailers for sale. Think that they're overpriced as he hasn't sold any yet. They aren't rehabbed either.
Also saw a Jeep Cherokee Sport today pulling a 16' classic down the highway and am hoping that he made it to whereever he was going. He had it on the hitch with no sway or w/d bars and the front end of the Cherokee looked as if it was gonna come off the ground and the rear end must have squatted down about 4". The hitch still had an upward angle and it was bouncing as if the trailer wasn't sitting on the frame or had low tires. Down the freeway at 65 in a 60 zone.

Old restored campers are neat but alas, folk don't camp that way much anymore. Man, wife, 3 kids, big ole flat screen TV, computers, air conditioning, etc, etc... All the stuff would fill one of those things before you ever got in it.

What we call "classic" were modern/state of the art or even hi-tech back then. And then there's the subset who think if you're not carrying it on your back it's not camping. To each their own

I don't think you can call this camping. This is RV'ing. :B

Everyone has an opinion. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think old trailers, or any old RV, is a classic. They have more class than the newer units.

And, Vintage Motorcycles are really cool..

Some thing may become classics with age: wine, many cars/trucks, airplanes, architectural design.

IMO old trailer do not fall into that category, they are just old. Kind of like pre-1940 motorcycles. Just old.
