so let's try a different definition of vaccine.

From the definition: "A product that stimulates a personโs immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease."
The issue with the annual flu vaccine is that it doesn't always target the proper "specific disease" that ends up in circulation, hence people get sick from the one that does. The "flu" is not specific but rather a family of viruses.
So technically the flu shot is a vaccine or a cocktail of more than one vaccine. Practically speaking it may or may not be effective during "flu season" due to the varied flavors.

23,500 have died since March 13, at that rate it would be more like 200,000 by the end of the year.
Now that the math has been corrected does an additional 150,000 deaths change your mind.
During the pandemic of 1917 Spanish Flu. I believe 675,000 died. That's what we are trying to avoid.
You can get a flu shot........ many don't and some of them die, chew on that.
Many do get the flu shot and some of them die! Flu shot is not a vaccine and is nowhere close to 100% effective.

I think this thread is becoming a perfect example of how people can make statistics say whatever they want them to say.
Both "sides" are bringing up numbers supporting their position.
Eventually we will get to the point of saying "we have to agree to disagree". I don't know when that point is.
X2...why its been allowed to go on and on and on I have no idea. Serves no purpose and other that rising numbers of deaths each day.
I notice other rv and non rv websites have started COVID-19 forums that take in all aspects its created or other theories/sky is falling/mean ol' government theories on the subject. One website moves all troll threads like this one to that forum.

Let me define what I consider a vaccine. When it works in most people, it is a vaccine. Like polio, mumps, measles, etc. Perhaps that is not the clinical description, but it is my description. I apologize if I have deceived you in any way.
The flu shot at the rosiest projection 50% effective. Would you call it a polio vaccine if you still had a 50-50 chance to get polio?
Call it a vaccine if you wish. If we get a "vaccine" that is 50% effective for covid-19, will that be satisfactory for those of you who wish to isolate as long as it takes?

Per the CDC - 22,000 people have died in the past 30 days due to the COVID in the US alone. that's a real number - although I have a feeling that you will find some way to say it's false news, or incorrect due to some data error because you obviously hold PHD's in statistics and disease control and somehow can refute these numbers.
So question for you, Where's YOUR evidence that the mandatory shutdown will kill more people than that? What's the number and at what rate? Links and supporting data is always helpful.
And 80,000 people died of the flu in 2017. I don't remember a shut down then? At the rate of 22,000 right now, that would be 66,000 by the end of the year. I don't see the issue that requires the country to be shut down.
Dodge guy, think you need to check your math;
80,000 a year means 80000/365=219 dead per day.
22,000 in 30 days is 22000/30=733 dead per day.
at that rate for a year we would loose 267,545 people. Think that would be a economic hit?
