Anyone canceling trips due to Corona virus?

I've got several trips planned, and some are at music festivals, so I'm trying to decide what to do. I see SBySW has cancelled, and afraid there will be more to do the same.
We just got our first case in Memphis today.

The 3.4% is a worldwide number where testing has been much more aggressive than here. The death rate here will probably stay higher than that because testing here is so poor.

The many many NON REPORTED mild cases have be around for a while.. and that ONLY adds to the LOWER fatality rate.. IF anyone died from it BEFORE the hype, that would have gotten the attention...instead, they just got better and went on with their lives without even knowing what they just had.

X2!!!! Take extra precautions, like hand washing/sanitizing frequently. Masks are useless as we're talking a =virus=, which resides =inside= bacteria/cells, so =really= f'n tiny. Unless you're in a self-contained lab-grade bunny suit with sub-micron filtration and positive pressure inside, you're "exposed". Personally, would I go on a cruise or fly right now? Nope, but then I'm not a huge fan of either any more anyway. Rather drive or camp, any day. 🙂 Also, IMO, the media is driving this and not logic.

There are already more than .0001 percent that have it (do the math). What's reported in the US is way UNDER-reported. This thing has been in the wild for weeks while the ostriches still had their heads stuck in the sand. When exposure goes to 50% and 3.4% of those will die, will that get your attention?

You are correct on the under reporting but, what is under reported are the number of cases. Not the number of deaths. Once somebody gets critical from flue like symptoms they will request the test for the Corona virus. If people have mild flue like symptom they do not get one of the limited numbers of tests and it is assumed to be the regular flu. Hence the inflated 3.4% death rate. As this goes on and testing becomes more available, that death rate will drop drastically.

It will go back up. it always does. Let one refinery go off line for an hour, and the price will skyrocket.

The virus definitely has my attention but I put little faith in the government's ability to help much or the news media to accurately report things. No cancellations here. Safest place possible is out in the woods in the camper.

Years ago I went to a professional convention but stayed in my camper at a nearby campground. Blew through a grocery store on the way which I’m pretty sure is where I caught norovirus (which has a 12 - 24 hr incubation period). Spent the convention entirety in the camper being sick as a dog. The camper was perfect: toilet was close by, well stocked with drinks and well isolated to prevent spread to others. Nobody nearby to infect me with any other pathogens.

We’re planning several camping trips this year. Worst risk is that (expletive) grocery store, not the drive or the camping. And we gotta do the grocery store anyway, no matter what we do.
