Anyone walk across the Rainbow Bridge?

Talking about the Bridge to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls...

We're planning on taking Uber from our campground to the Rainbow Bridge and are wondering where to go to walk across. I can't figure it out looking at Google Maps satellite view.

Do we get in line with the cars??? Or is there a special toll gate for pedestrians?

If you're visiting Niagara Falls on the Canadian side and have a camper I'd suggest that for visiting Toronto as well you bring your camper up here to Bronte Creek Provincial Park and leave it there, using it as your base camp ... Toronto is just too far from NF to be driving back and forth each day. For visiting Toronto don't drive - instead drive down to the Appleby Line GO Station where you can leave your vehicle and take the train into The Big Smoke to Union Station which is central to downtown. Once in the city the subway and streetcar system may get you where you want to go but personally I'd just ante up for a taxi or Uber to get to places like Casa Loma - lot less frustration. Only if you were heading to someplace like the Toronto Zoo which is on the far east side of Toronto would I drive in that madness called "traffic". :E

Yes, we walked it a few years ago. As noted, you enter from a Niagara Falls SP parking lot closest to the bridge. It's a pleasant walk with nice photo opportunities. The border clearance was quite simple and fast in both directions.

The day we walked over, traffic was stopped and backed up the length of the bridge, so it was the quickest way to go into Canada.

Hi, I just looked at Google Maps street view. The pedestrian entrance is at the Northeast end of the state parking lot off Prospect Street. At the extreme south or left end of the Customs plaza. There is a small parking lot between the State parking lot and the bridge exit off of Prospect Street. There are 2 signs with directions to the Pedestrian Crossing entrance (one under a do not Enter sign - US gov. at work, I guess that is for cars).

Once you get to Canada walk down to the gardens below the bridge, they are beautiful! They even have a Japanese garden and a curved portico that opens up to a sloping lawn that gives a framed view of the American Falls. The lawn is boarded by trees trimmed square (Maples of course as this is Canada). Walkways take you to the gorge. At night the park adjcent to the gorge has lights in the trees, just a beautiful place to walk (I took my wife on dates there since before we were married some 47 years ago)

Now check with your CG as there may be a shuttle that should be cheaper if not free to the Falls.

If you stay at Four Mile Creek S.P. (which is very nice) your camping pass will get you into N.F. state park without paying.
Then do as above poster recommended.

Go to Niagara Falls State Park and you can walk from there to the bridge and use the pedestrian walkway. Be sure to have your passports with you or you will have problems going through customs.
