Auto leveling legs help

I just got a new camper with the 6 point auto leveling legs. I have two questions how does the auto memory work and does it really go back to the exact position from when you unhooked. Also can you use the legs to raise the tires during storage or to change a tire. Thanks in advance

Often in some campsites on auto level one side of our toy hauler the tires will be a few inches off the ground for the weekend. Hasn't hurt anything so far. Some folks do in fact use the system to change a tire.

At 16000lbs on a 6 point system lifting the wheels off the ground will put less then 3000lbs on each lift... within the rating of the jacks. I have a 4 point and yes I have lifted mine off the ground (9500lbs) several times leveling the camper and also while working on the axles or wheels. I understand that the hydraulic systems have even a higher rating then the electric systems.

rtaylor0830, I no nothing of the 6 Jack system (I'm guessing Lippert), but with our BigFoot system, I do work on unit (20K#) using system to elevate the unit. Maybe it's because I have good insurance :B, or just "feel lucky";). I'd suggest contact the system manufacturer, and ask. But, probably the answer is no! Due to liability issues. memtb

It seems that your second question was ignored, "NO", never use your leveling system to change tires or lift your rig so high that any tire is off the ground.

I happen to have HWH, but I have read the manuals on a few others and all I have read say "NO".

Think of 16,000 pounds resting a 1.5" or smaller rod or cylinder and how much lateral force just walking around inside your rig causes, much less a forty mph sidewind or gust.
