Awning Supports

Does anyone have an alternative to these?
I'd rather not drill any holes and $130 for 2 aluminum bows?!?! Yikes!

Tightening the upper bracket arm is supposed to get rid of the sag.

Thanks for the replies. I don't need them for water pooling, I drop the awning corner as well for that. I need them for the sag. There is too much slack. I'll see if OldCoots brackets can help and please keep the ideas coming.

You need poles running from the awning to the ground and it needs to be strapped down. There's a guy on the ForestRiverForums.com (OldCoot) selling brackets for these. They make a huge difference - I had my awning out in what turned out to be 35-42mph winds two weeks ago (I actually wanted to bring it in, just missed my window of opportunity). The take down process is quick- pop the ratchet straps and then disconnect the hooks at the top.

Same here. Been doing this for 10+ years with no awning issues.

No suggestions for an alternative....

but, keep in mind that awning supports like those make it a lot harder to roll up the awning in a HURRY if a sudden wind storm comes up. They will not protect the awning from damage.
