Big jump in gas prices in MI.

Just overnight prices for gas jumped 30 - 40 cents. It's now $4.10 -$4.15. Delivery issues we're told. The excuses are getting old. They need to come up with something better. To top it off our gov Kermit the frog wants to raise gas taxes to fix the roads. What do they do with all our money?

There are several things that affect the price of gas/fuel.. One of those is taxes, another is government regulations and requirements. And that is what the Governor or Govermanure of any state has to do with the price of gas/fuel.

That said.. This is generic information, I am not familure with what the governor of that state has done even if I do spend about 5 months there every winter., So I can not make a political statement.

By the way,, Lowest price I saw here in Michigan Sunday on my way to church was 4.07, about a quarter mile from where I'm parked,,,, When I got to church, add another dime.

Were te same. Our prices just went up .30 at one station and down .20 at another. This was on the same day. I wish they'de make up thier minds!

It has really dropped in South Carolina then because 2 weeks ago I paid 3.99 for diesel in Myrtle Beach and that was more than I paid in North Carolina, I don't remember the last time that was true.

I'm all for boycotting the stations to bring down the price.

Think about this: If all of chose to not buy gas on one day of the week, what would happen?
OK, I can hear it already, "Won't make any difference, we will all still use the same amount of gas". Or, "It will never work, some of us need to fill up on that day". Or, "You'll never get everybody to agree and participate so why try?".

Here's the deal, though: If there was a sudden fall-off in traffic through the stations on one particular day, regardless (or even in support) of more traffic the following day/s, the disruption of the supply chain still takes place. I'm not only talking about fuel supply but ALL of the other stuff like doughnuts, milk, etc., the stuff that the stations really make their money on. I know this was done successfully in Canada a few years back. Now, who has a Kevlar vest and wants to start the boycott? :B

I'm camping at Prince Gazzilian (sp) state park in PA. Just filled up with diesel a few hours ago, and will head home to MI tomorrow. The price was $3.86 at a carry-out a couple miles from the Crooked river campground. I didn't notice what the gas price was, but think it was lower. MI is always higher it seems.

I paid $4.59 in Brighton, MI last week on the way down at a Shell station just off 23. I hit a high one, seems the normal was $4.05, the same day I filled in Toledo, OH for $3.60, right down town after getting off I-75 because of an accident.

Its hit or miss, there is nothing we can do about it, unless we stay home and lay on the couch.

oil has been falling for the hole month of may, and the oil company ain,t gonna loose so they raise the gas price to make up for the lower oil price. I watch the brent on the stock market oil has dropped $17 bucks in one month ,so there gonna make it up on gas. gas should be $2.50 a gal but that ain,t gonna happen.
