Do you leave anything in the RV over the Winter?

Where does one draw the line on what can spend the cold Winter in the unheated RV, versus what needs to come into the house? I try to remember all liquids, but how about pills; aspirin, ibuprofen, etc. Band aids? AA batteries? Other stuff?

We usually leave the bedding (in plastic bags) and the crockery and cutlery. I put a 1500W oil-filled radiator in the space between the shower and toilet and control it with a digital plug-in thermostat. I leave the outdoor transducer from an indoor/outdoor max/min thermometer on the dinette table and monitor the temp on the base unit in my office.

Despite the t/stat bottoming out at 45F, the system seems to keep the inside at about 37, regardless of how cold the ambient outside is. A "Kill-a-Watt" monitor showed an acceptable amount of power being used over three months for the past two winters.

Same here. LED LCD tv has seen two winters, and still works great.

when you get 4 ft of snow in September, how do you determine when it is winter? ๐Ÿ™‚

The weather in Northeastern PA is so un predictable. Ski areas used to open by Thanksgiving but now shoot for mid January or not open. Pretty soon I wont winterize the unit ๐Ÿ˜‰

Everything perishable or freezable comes out. Everything else stays in. We keep a few changes of clothes in it, as we use it occasionally over the winter.

We store it about an 1.5 hours away down the hill and out of the snow in Red Bluff. We can just jump in the truck on a whim and go get it out of storage and camp at any of several locations in the valley. A nice winter getaway for us out of the snow.

I take our led TV out. Is that overkill?

I left the 32" tv in ours last winter. It is wall mounted, and not needed in the house. It is new, so I was concerned enough to ask the dealer about it freezing. He said many new ones on the lot have tvs in them, over the winter, just do not turn them on below freezing.

Mine seemed just fine this season, so I will leave it on the wall this winter too.

I leave my LED tv in the RV over winter in North MN with temps as low as -40 and have had no problems.

food is about the only thing i do not keep in my rv when not in use.

the liquid things are not full most close to empty, so ok if they freeze,
but i live in California (not LA). so not much chance of a cold freeze.

Pretty much as everyone else said except regarding batteries for flashlights and such. I used to take them out too but my brother in law who is a big time photographer said that he keeps his batteries in the freezer at home until needed!

Anything that can freeze is removed. Several times we've missed a can of pop and had to clean up the mess in the spring.

We removed all liquids except a couple bottles of vodka, RV battery and all food including canned.
Everything else was left in - OTC medicines, first aid kit, cookware, utensils, cutlery, dinnerware, clean linens, pillows, hats etc.
Linens have Bounce sheets and cedar-scented moth balls throughout and in and around the mattresses.
