I purchased a new-to-me '06 Pleasure-way Plateau a couple of months ago. I noticed that the fresh water refilling the commode after flushing was tinted, anywhere from a blue, to a green, to a yellow, to a brownish color.
I was puzzled and eliminated lack of sanitizing the FW tank and lines because the previous owner said he sanitized a week before I took possession.
This past weekend I sanitized, to INCLUDE the line to the toilet, which is part of my standard operating procedure when sanitizing.
Lo and behold... no more tinted fresh water in the toilet bowl!
I'm suggesting that when sanitizing, aside from running the faucets (and shower(s)) until you smell the bleach, do the same with your toilet.
Edited to add:
P.S. I add the bleach in the morning then go about my day in the RV. Upon return, anywhere from 4 to 10 hours, I empty the FW tank and flush the lines, then refill the FW tank.
I use the water from the tank for washing dishes and showering until the FW tank has been refilled at least twice since the initial sanitizing.
I don't like wasting water, (suffered through too many droughts), and I don't have the time nor patience to empty and refill FW twice in the same day.
