Gas prices

How much effect will higher gas prices have on the camping/travel trailer business? At what point will camping slow down? $4/gal? $4.50/gal? +

We are planning a another cross country trip this summer. This time across the northern states. My wife and I are retired and are blessed to be able to still work part time. We increased our work days from 3 to 4 days per week. Going to follow the Great River Road to US 412 then US 412 West until it ends. Not going to let these insane price increases change our plans.

It’s a global problem not solely under 1 government’s control and the rapid increase in consumer spending is adding to the problem.

Gas prices don't have to be an issue now (along with all the other prices that contributed to the 6.2% inflation we are now experiencing); they made them an issue with their policies. Now they get to reap what they sow, my guess is it will be a massacre.

Do you stand under the fact that this time last year many more people where not working, and many that where working where doing it from home, not burning fuel twice a day?
Now opinion, decades ago OPEC showed us they could pretty much destroy the US economy. We did our best to transfer that power to oil companies, but have done very little to reduce the need for oil.
Remember when leadership of the country put on a sweater, and solar collectors on the White House? If we as a country had built on the idea for all the years gas price would be much less of issue.

The problem is the policies are still in place. Exports have not changed, imports cost more, and increasing domestic production takes time. Meanwhile domestic demand has increased considerably without the ability to fill the product void. Data

Contracts in place doesn't allow a decrease in exports short term. Oil companies can either breach or drill

I just filled up today at 1.38/litre (Canadian dollars) here in southern Alberta. That works out to $6.20 a Canadian gallon.
In Vancouver it is $1.60/litre (Canadian dollars) . That works out to $7.20 per Canadian gallon.

Yes. But maybe if comparing to American pricing one has to use the same currency and the same size gallon or it makes no sense. A 1.44 per litre in Canadian funds is 4.40 American currency for one American gallon. American gallons are smaller than a Canadian gallon.

While we can moan about fuel prices, there are many many countries with much much higher fuel prices.

So we should be happy other Countries pay more.

Personally I liked being a self sufficient Country with low fuel prices. Didn’t take long to change that!!!

Gas is virtually free in Venezuela if you care to move.
Iran, Iraq, Ethiopia, Nigeria.... take your pick for cheap fuel.
