In Ca. We can only tow a second trailer behind a 5th wheel trailer.

The reason I went with a Truck Camper. Was so I can tow my boat & such behind my truck with the TC mounted.

But except for not being able to back up with 2 trailers.
What are your experiences or thoughts with it?

I only know one guy that does it. He pulls a trailer with his dirt bikes & such behind his 5'er & that looks pretty darn long from the pictures I've seen.

Can you post pictures of your rig towing 2 trailers?

Cummins12v98, it towed straight as an arrow. Its all about proper loading no matter what you tow. I was stuck behind an SUV one day that couldnt go over 50mph without the tent trlr they were towing swaying. I towed my setup across Nv numerous times at the speed limit. Which one of the two of us were unsafe ?

Great to know! Too many try to tow too much with their existing TV instead of staying within it's capabilities!

Will be towing from NW WA to SoCal next week.

When did WA start allowing double tows?

I am licensed SD and have towed the West doubles and that's my story.

I towed from SoCal to NW WA in July passed Many LEO's. If I get pulled over I will drop RV and take MC trailer to Northern CA drop it come get the RV and head on South.

I stick to I-5 and stop for fuel at truck stops along the highway. Wish me luck!

Towed 2 bumper pulls for years and its legal in Ca.

That combo does not seem too safe to me. Hard enough to keep a regular TT in line.

Look at my profile, been double towing since 2007 and approx. 30,000 miles. Once I installed a 50 gal. aux tank no fueling problems, just hit the truck stops, can go around 750 miles on a fill up. Just got back from Colorado and Utah riding trails for 7 weeks. Also installed a rearview camera.

We have the "surge brakes" on our boat trailer, as well. But....nothing on our little utility trailer for the 4-wheeler (and hunting gear).

I made a point to be completely legal and talked with CHP, local PD, and the DMV so as to avoid any issues. Did have a few conversations with DOT officers in CA while towing and they were all good to deal with. Oregon highway patrol was having lunch at the same diner we were at and did question the legality of our set up but as soon as they heard we were headed back to CA they were no longer interested :).
I don't see myself doing it again any time soon but wouldn't hesitate to do it again. It is a great way to RV and have a choice of toys or no toys.

That's just it, I like toys.

In Montana, the maximum length for a truck/trailer/trailer combination is 75 feet.
The first trailer does not have to be a fifth wheel hitch.
The second trailer is supposed to have brakes that can be controlled by the driver. I would bet that most boat trailers running around the state in a doubles configuration do not have brakes.
I have thought about doing it, but DW says she won't ride with me if I do...

I just cant afford to buy & or store a rig that big!

Big "pole barns" aren't very expensive! Just adds a little to the already expensive RV'ing experience! ๐Ÿ˜‰
