How to find a leak in potable water tank on motor home

We have a 2001 Bounder 37 ft diesel and the fresh water tank leaks off all water above 25% full. How would I diagnose where the leak is and how to make the repair?

Additionally, my propane tank always reads full. How do I repair the sensors?

Thank all of you in advance.

You know that it leaks down to the 25% full level. That is part of the battle won. Next is where in the lower half of the tank is it leaking from. Fill it up & find the wet part. This is where it gets difficult. Access to the tank. Why did the leak develop? Chafe from something?

What is the tank made of & what can be used to fix it?

My propane tank uses a sensor similar to this one. It has two wires connected for the gauge.
I am guessing your coil in the sensor has gone open or a broken wire at the sensor.

Where is the tank located ?
As far as the propane gage, are you talking about the one on the wall inside, or the one on the tank itself.

Dou you have access to the sensor locations?
What about the pipe connections?

You can buy endoscopes for a smartphone for under $40 now. Might be able to poke it around from the sides.

IF the tank itself is cracked? don,t just smear some sealer over it. theres more to the repair.

If you can attach a small diameter clear tube to the tank (perhaps at an existing drain valve) and lead it up to a convenient place to observe, the water level in the tube will be the same as in the tank. It makes an accurate water level monitor.

I may be wrong but I think the floor has to be cut to get to the plumbing and tank.

Have you looked around the pump for leaks?

You could dump some cheap food dye in the tank. Easier to see then clear water.
My first guess is a poor connection on the tank and not the tank itself.
Sensors are normally spun into the tank. Hard to repair.
There is some small expansion seals available and repacement sensors that use the expansion type installation method.
