Come back from the boat ramp and this was parked in our camp area. That's our site's fire ring.

Parking along the road is expected on a holiday weekend. But why bother with that? Pulling right in is easiest!

Nice!

I'd be livid if this happened to us.

Many of us have spent a lifetime doing our best to be courteous and respectful of others.

I honestly think this apparent discourtesy we often see is a slap in the face to a lot of folks.
Most would never take advantage or at least ask first.

I say if you do something to make me mad then you need me to say something that will piss you off too.

Time to hunt that owner down and get them to move on.
Don't let them do it to you without forcing them to realize it way overstepped on your good time.

I think the real question is one of consideration of others, No matter what you rent for was personal use is it right and allowable for complete strangers to encroach without asking permission. Does it really matter what the renter has planned for that area. Would you share a motel room, time share, or anything else with complete strangers. What is the difference between a motel and a campsite. I welcome most snybody into my campsite but I do the inviting. Do we as a society expect this type of rude behavior as socially acceptable?

For the folks that think it looks like an empty site, to me, that's not an excuse. You shouldn't park in a vacant site either - unless u rent it. It looks like this car has the potential to ruin the afternoon, if you let it. I for one would do my best to say, oh well, and hopefully it will be gone before the fire pit will be needed this evening.

How about starting with a "hey, I'm not sure you realize it, but that area is actually part of my site-is it possible for you to move your vehicle?". Or even let them leave it on your site but ask them to move it so your beloved game is not disrupted. Maybe I can't see it all from the pics but my take is it looks like a vacant site, especially with the fire ring appearing to be so far away from your unit. If that doesn't work then a walk to the office politely explaining the situation and asking for help would be an idea. There's no need to make an inconvenience into a confrontation. With all the negative posts I see on here I swear half of you go looking for trouble!

No one in this thread has suggested violence of any kind.

For those of you stating it could look like an unused spot....

a) There is a sign at the gate stating all sites are full - regular occurrence for this campground on a regular weekend, not just a holiday weekend.

b) One drive through this campground and it would be clear that the area is not an unused spot - as all spots are asphalt paved and 75 feet long... Tables are large, concrete, and clearly marked.

So if someone parks in your campsite that you have paid for and need for your own uses and leaves for the day your ok with that? I sure wouldn't be and I think the OP has the right to be upset by it. Now I am not saying throw punches over it but there is a level of common courtesy to be respected and rules to abide by. JMO

Honestly, I don't camp to make friends... Ill give a smile and a friendly wave,,,, but I'm not a very nice person - and don't want to chit-chat.

I'd rather you (in general terms) stay the heck away from me. I like my peace and quiet. And it generally only involves me and my wife.

I admit, I'm the grump.

If ya don't want to make friends , that's fine, no reason to make enemy's either.

I temporarily resolved it by going inside, eating lunch, and taking a nap.

I do my best thinking during naps, good call!

My solution would probably be to have let it go, but, write a note and leave it on the windshield. Not something that would get you killed, but a gentle reminder about improper parking.

Of all the suggestions, this one is the only one that will guarantee no confrontation and a peaceful resolution of the problem. When I go camping, I am looking to relax, not get in a fight. Someone just had a brainf@rt. No need to punish. Play nice.

I'm with the OP. Whether the site looks empty or not it is a CAMPING site not a place to park your CAR.

What I would do and have done, is to just park your RV right up to his bumper. In my case it was a pull thru so I parked my toad right up to his front bumper. And then go and have a cold one while he now has to run around and find out who blocked him in where he shouldn't have been in the first place.

In our case we just sat with the neighboring camper and watched the excitement from there.

so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
