Inverter generators?????

I'm new to the world of RV'ing and so far the taste I've had is GREAT!! I've been researching inverter generators and am wondering, has anyone heard of, and or used, a PureWave Electric Key Start DG-3500 Digital Generator Inverter? I know Honda is the best, but I need to do this on a budget, also, any opinions on the Champion Digital Hybrid?

I don't either. I have a Champion 2000 watt enclosed inverter and it's super quiet and inexpensive. I too am on a budget, I'm retired.

Don't Honda offer an open frame hybrid inverter too?

My little Champion has been super reliable in the 4 years I've had it.

I don't understand this list. It includes a 1600 watt Honda and a 3500 watt Champion. But it doesn't include the Champion 3100 inverter which is very similar in noise level to the Honda 3000 (also not on the list).

This is the CHAMPION DIGITAL HYBRID GENERATOR the OP asked about.

How about the WEN

Price is good and the reviews look okay, noise level is reportedly about the same as the Honda. Can't find much of anything on the Purewave.

Here's the Champion, looks ok too although it costs and weighs more.

These are 3100 watt machines.

It means that this thread is not going to turn into a war over generator noise, or Honda bashing. At least I hope that's what it means.

The digital hybrid
Is an inverter, it uses inverter electronics

It is just not all enclosed , and won't be as quiet

The term "inverter generator" is synonymous with enclosed super quiet

So the digital hybrid inverter in open frame was given a different name
Same guts different body aka open frame

Champion is well like on these forums, they build good generators
Have excellent service dept, and reputation
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Generators can definitely get spendy. Despite that, try hard to get an inverter model, and then (in my opinion) go for more gen that you will need, or at least select a model that can be paralleled to another later. I don't think you need to go for a Honda or Yamaha to get a good one. Once again, just my opinion.

Too much budget-mindedness often costs more in the long run, once you realize the cheap gen you bought is also way too loud to tolerate for more than a few minutes. There are budget minded gens out there that also provide clean power at reduced decibels. A lot of your decision should be based on what you need this generator to do. Just charge your battery(s)? You may get by with a small 1000 watt model. Run the air conditioner, you will likely want closer to 3000 watts. Decisions decisions ๐Ÿ™‚

You did nothing wrong, don't worry. Sometimes forum members make comments that are not relevent to the discussion.

And, don't hesitate to ask questions. Someone will have the answer.

Great info, thanks for sharing. Only wish they had the Champion Dual Fuel included

I don't own one (yet) but, I wouldn't hesitate to buy any Champion generator.
The digital hybrid is probably not as quiet as an inverter generator.
Where do you plan to use it? That should be part of your research.

Welcome to the forum. :C
