Has anyone used the Kurt wdh?

I am thinking about changing out the Reese that I have for one.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I have tried several times to get the hitch set up correctly. Used the hitch on two other trailers and no problems. On this one, it binds, jumps off the cam and makes a lot of noise.

I just tried another dealership and I think he adjusted the cams correctly. He even measured.

So I am going to try this setting out for a bit.

Thanks for all the info.

I am curious as well. If you need stronger spring bars, those are readily available for your Reese...IIRC.

All standard WD hitches behave pretty much the same. I have a ProSeries 550 lb round bar for my Pop up and if I need to I can buy replacement bars all the way up to 1200 lbs that will work with my hitch head.

Thanks!

What's wrong with the Reese you have now? I would think that the basic Reese WDH is at least as good as the Curt WDH, and quite possibly even better with or without cheaper upgrades. If you want ti change the WDH, I recommend one with integrated sway control. Equal-i-zer 4pt, Reese Strait Line, ad Bluexn Swaypro all have very positive feedback from owners for about the same price range ($500-ish).

Ditto.

If making a change, consider the Andersen. My 2 cents, couldn't resist. Towed 8000 for three years and it was great.
The 2007 Jayco Jay Flight 28RLS is listed as having 6390# UVW and 8500# GVWR. Loaded tongue weight could exceed 1000#.

Chevrolet specs imply the 2006 Silverado 2500HD should have 100% Front Axle Load Restoration.

Based on Andersen user reports, it is unlikely the Andersen WDH could satisfy the requirement for 100% FALR with 1000# tongue weight.
