Ventilation is all you need. Leave roof vents or windows open a bit.

Maybe.. from what I can find if it's a desiccant at all, it's a rather poor one. I've had cat litter in the house forever and I don't see any signs of adsorbtion - like a hard shell or clumping. And were I in the cat litter business I doubt I'd want it to be an effective desiccant.

Use Dri-Z-air or something like that. That's what it's designed for.

As long as the cat litter is clay based it will act as dessicant.
Another natural option for removing moisture is clay cat litter. You can simply place an open bag of kitty litter inside your storage unit, or pour it into a bucket. The clay effectively absorbs the moisture in the air and prevents the growth of mold and mildew. Kitty litter may need to be changed every several weeks to maintain optimum freshness.

We have never had a problem. Each day when camping we spray the walls the Tilex Shower Spray. Before storing I clean the walls with Aquachem cleaner and dry them.
We store with the end windows open a little plus the two ceiling vents (which have the Maxxair covers) AND we cover the RV with a Sunshield tarp to minimize the sun effect.
You might also try spraying the walls with Concrobium before storage.

You can buy Damp-Rid at Walmart and set out. In addition, you can use normal charcoal and cat litter in large roasting pans. We do all of these through the RV when we leave in humid south-TX for various months.
