Opinions on 3400 champion inverter generator.

In the market for genny for 3 or 4 times a year boon docking. About 1000 dollars. Any opinions on it? Would appreciate in advance.

You know perfectly well that the best comparison is between different category items. Someone told me I should purchase a diesel because they are so quiet but the 1991 Dodge Cummins was pretty loud. All Chrysler diesels are far too loud.

What do you expect from a open frame construction generator. Compare the Champ 4000 to the Honda 2500 and I bet they are about the same DB.

I have a Champion 4000 a Yamaha 1000 and a honda 2000 those of you that say champion is not louder then a Honda is in a sreius state of denial. My wife bought me the champion for me for fathers day 4 years ago, otherwise I would have returned it. Genorators are great and I use one everytime we go camping, We Boondock But I'm tired of the noise. Even the yamaha that just sounds like a hum in the 5th wheel, so I'm installing a 400 watt solar system and a 2000 watt inverter. I'll still bring a GEN. but hopefully it won't be needed. BTW the champion runs great to this day, it gets more use by others when I loan it out, It's just to much noise. When I camp I don't like noise.

I don't work for Champion or Amazon, but they have the Non-electric start 3100/2800 watt inverter generator on sale today for $590. Save a few pounds and a few dollars for those that don't mind a recoil starter.

I would say that after listening to the Champion, Honda, and Yamaha, all ~3000 watt models... they are pretty much the same, noise-wise. I would go with a Champion, either the remote start, or the dual fuel, because with the dual fuel model, you can "blast out" the carb by running it a few minutes on propane before storing it. This way, there is no way for the carb to get gummed up.

My Champion 3100 inverter runs my 15,000 Air with no problem. Quiet enough and reliable. It is backed by a good warranty and the remarks I have read are mostly positive.

I had spent $795 at Walmart.com for the 3100 with remote start (75537i). At the time Amazon was the same price. When Amazon dropped their price I called Walmart and got $200+ back on my card. So even if you've already bought it, watch those prices.

There was a discussion on another forum yesterday about the Champ 3100 price on Amazon. The price went from $595 to $774 to $595 then to over $800 all in a matter of hours.

I have 2 Hondas 2000 that I twin together to run ac, etc, but honestly went into Amazon the other day and saw the champion 3100 was $595 and started thinking that it might be worth a try for that price. Well, I think I thought for too long, as I went in tonight to place the order and price is in the $800s plus. Does anyone known how often they drop price like that on Amazon?

I think I will do the same, paint my Champ 2000 red then all the Honda nay sayers will be commenting on how quiet my Honda is. :B

I feel the same way about you guys and Champion. I agree with every good thing about the Champions- except for the fact that all the Champion owners seem to emphasize it being as quiet as the Honda 2000. Just my personal opinion, but the Champion IS NOT AS QUIET AS THE HONDA. PERIOD.

If you add red to those BOLD CAPITALIZED letters we will definitely agree with you. Do you really think bold and caps will make your point better than actual facts?
