I've read some of you fine folks spray Pam on the front of your RV's to help in cleaning bugs off of your front cap. Does it affect the decals (making them turn loose or become brittle)after a long time?

I have wrapped the front with shrink wrap . Worked pretty good , peeled off easy .
I took it off every day as I did not know what would happen long term . I do not know what that stuff costs as it came with the job !

Myth: WD-40 contains fish oil.

Fact:
Consumers have told us over the years that they have caught some of the biggest fish ever after protecting their fish hooks and lures with WD-40. We believe this legend came from folks assuming that the product must contain fish oil since it appears to attract fish. Sorry Charlieยฎ, it just ainโ€™t so.

I was told (now get this) that WD40 was good for removing the bugs off my front cap and after after returning home from florida,,,It did work,,,,very well actually, they literally slid off the cap after a 20 minute soak which at that point I washed the cap off with my regular car-wash soap and as WD40 is mostly fish oil and water it rinsed off without a trace, try it!!

Red Green;
If it moves and it shouldn't, duck-tape,
if doesn't move and it should,WD40!!

Just an FYI WD40 is NOT fish oil. It is a petroleum product. Not a huge deal i think with a proper wash it will be OK to clean end caps but don't go applying it to seals...just like any petro product it will cause them to degrade.

I have used the Collinite wax for years and yes, over the decals - all are still like new. You can get the stuff on Amazon.

Put a good wax job on it. I'm going to try the wet dryer sheet - never have done so yet.

And for in the kitchen Vegalene is a superior product to Pam and the generics, especially with non-stick cookware. Easiest and cheapest for a non-stick pan is to pour a little high-temp oil like canola in first and then wipe out all you can with a paper towel.

Traveled from home to FW last week, the love bugs were bad. Wet dryer sheets did wonders. When I got home I used one of those sponges with the nylon on them and it worked wonders also.

WD-40 is many things, Water Displacement Formula 40 (makes me wonder what happened with Formulas 1 through 49 inclusive).

It is a cleaner, a penetrant (penetrating Oil) it is not a long-term lubricant.. Other products do that job better.

Oh, and it displaces water.
