Pam cooking spray

I've read some of you fine folks spray Pam on the front of your RV's to help in cleaning bugs off of your front cap. Does it affect the decals (making them turn loose or become brittle)after a long time?

One thing I have not heard mention is on a full body paint. I guess they don't attract the bugs, EXCEPT MINE.

Partial hi-jack.

WD40 has more solvent properties than lubricating properties.
No need to waste WD40 on a front cap.

Many better choices for - "if it doesn't move and should" things:

SeaFoam Deepcreep
Kano Aerokroil
Zep 45 yellow label
Drummond American Open & Shut
JB 80
WD40 (but not for bugs)
etc. -
but easiest (and cheapest) is 50/50 mix of ATF & Acetone.

For a quick temporary fix - "Racer Tape" (duct tape) is ugly, but does well.
Depending on what you are "fixing" - JB Weld is lots better.

Back to BUGS:
......DO NOT "PAM it"!
Red Max Pro (or Zep) coating - wash and used dryer sheets for stubborn bugs.
Don't want to (or didn't) wax or do the RMP or Zep?
Just wash & used dryer sheets for the bug removal.
Works great for your auto/s & trucks too - used dryer sheets won't harm the finish...:C

WD40 before. And water soak and wash with good soap, and dryer sheets, then a final wash and rinse. Bugs are gone.

Take from a detailer in Florida. Soaking with just water soon after you stop. Wait a few minutes and a nylon or plastic scrubby will work very well on Lovebugs. The key word here is "soon". Overnight is not soon.

Hey, the Pam butter flavor spray works great on the RV roof too especially in the southern states the the southwest. Great for frying eggs, pancakes, American Fries, and they never stick!

If you spray Pam or like on the front, and you let it set fro a couple of days in the sun, it turns to a goo that is a real chore to wash off.

Spray some of that junk on a piece of sheet metal and see how it feels in a few days. You will change your mind.

Forget the vegetable spray, you'll attract more dirt than anything. The magic answer for bug removal is wet dryer sheets. You will be amazed.

I was told (now get this) that WD40 was good for removing the bugs off my front cap and after after returning home from florida,,,It did work,,,,very well actually, they literally slid off the cap after a 20 minute soak which at that point I washed the cap off with my regular car-wash soap and as WD40 is mostly fish oil and water it rinsed off without a trace, try it!!

Slides, a funny (not) story, got my first Cadillac saved for years. Sprayed front e nd with Pam to ward off lovebugs. Amazing how much having front end repainted lowered trade in value. I'm just sayin...
