Here are some beautiful pictures of the snow clearing of the road through the National Park. I hope the link will work for you.

Maybe someone can fix this so it works like a link should. Thank You

We went to Crater Lake Nat'l Park, Oregon yesterday and the snow along the roadside is still higher than a car and only 6 miles of the loop is cleared. The lake still had a light covering of ice on it. We were told it will be July before the whole rim drive is opened - and this was not a heavy snow year - only 350 something inches! It was a gorgeous sight!!

We were there in aug. 05 and there was very little snow left. They say all the glaciers will be gone by 2020 i think? Either way it is a very beautiful drive!

They usually are open by June 15th except "good" snow years.

We will be there a couple of weeks before you. We will try not to take the scenery with us. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Going to be tough though.

The latest opening of the full length of the road (except during WWII) was in 2011 - July 13th - Some photos of my drive across it that day.

Here is a PDF of the Opening & Closing Dates.

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

I dunno, I think those types of roads would give me mini anxiety attacks. =P

Great pictures! Many years ago we used to travel between Havre and Eureka, MT to visit the grand parents (parents/brother & I were originally from Eureka). Can remember going over the garden Wall with those tall walls of snow in June. We always laughed at the "flatlanders" playing in the snow. The snow removal equipment is better now-a-days.
