Any suggestions for a portable propane campfire?

Also, how much propane would I use per hour for a small one (like Little Red Campfire or Heininger 5995. I don't want to deplete the tanks...

Here is my Fire Dancer. I've had it for years and works great when you don't want or can't have a real fire.

It doesn't use much propane at all. You can adjust the flow and regulate how much fire you want.

I use your standard "20lb" cylinder and I get a lot of hours out of it.

I like the Heininger better,It is larger and puts out much more heat and it does really look like a real fire unlike the tin can one.

Campfire in a Can. Its the best by far. It gives off the most warmth and looks like a natural wood fire. With a five gallon propane tank you'll get anywhere from 12-20 hours of fire depending on the setting.

I purchased the one at Lowes. $99. I can use it off of a propane bottle and also connects to my MH tank. Just have to change the hose fitting. Propane dealer made me up another hose.

Rule of thumb is 20,000 btu /hr = 1 lb of propane.
