I don't care for it either. Rip it out and replace it with new decor, of junk that I wouldn't construct a tree house with.
It is probably just what some Folks want but I'm conservative and like the most quality I can obtain in traditional polished wood, and finest fixtures, that I can afford. Paint can be really innovative but still fit the conservative or mature or perhaps it is old school ideas.
Some of the stylish paint schemes and sparkle, of good paint, on some of the newer coaches are righteous.

So, everyone complains because there's not any shows on the television specifically geared towards RVs. So they put a couple on and it seems everyone is now complaining because they don't like them either.

In keeping with what seems to be popular right now: Extreme remodeling of houses and Love it or List it type shows, you'd think folks would get sick and tired of that after a while. Then there's the extreme homes ... you know, people who make homes out of missile silo bunkers and even a World War 2 submarine! And how about the multi-million home searches in New York city in a high rise building .....

So, why not a show about an extreme RV make-over? Why not a show about 3 families looking at different RV's at an RV show? Why not a show about multi-million dollar motor coaches that only movie actors and professional ball players can afford?

It seems at least there's an attempt to get "something" out there for those who enjoy the RV lifestyle. I think what is really happening is, there's too much envy and jealousy over those high-end, upscale, extreme remodel, ultra high tech items and shows. So rather than enjoying the shows for what they are and drifting away into a fantasy that can never be for 99.9999% of the viewing audience, there's that segment of viewers that criticize and put it down.

Personally, I like the show.

As much as I'm like everyone else and enjoyed shows like RV Today, we are truly the minority here. To us, there are thousands and thousands of RV enthusiasts but for the most part RV owners are not on forums, could care less about RV shows on TV, typically do not live in them for months on end, etc. Probably 90% of RV owners use them every so often at a local park not too far from home and don't care whether the sewer boom is the latest and greatest thing to come down the pike.

Hey gang ... happened to catch this thread and see the mentions for RVtoday! Thanks so much for the kind words. I loved hosting and producing the show from 2000-2007, it was a kick. We tried to do a REAL RVing show, featuring REAL RVers around the country.

Here's an adventure to the Salton Sea where we met up with an extended RVing family who knows how to have fun in the desert.

You'll find some new episodes on the YouTube channel, and maybe we can get something back on the tube!

Thanks again for the nice comments, safe travels out there.

There was a good show about RVing on and the host that was on it has posted on here before. I can't remember the name of the show right off the top of my head right now, but there are episodes of it online. But they are old ones and not new ones. I think Marcus needs to get another one going.

You MUST be talking about RV Today with Stew Oleson. If you google RV Today, Stew Oleson, Road Stew, or go to Youtube and search for the above, you will find lots of show segments, even newer ones.

IMHO, there will never be another RV oriented show like RV Today.

Yep it was Stew Oleson...we need him back to do a real RV show...

The so-called reality TV shows are of course not reality at all. They are all staged, scripted, and pre-ordained. House Hunters is a great example. The houses are all pre-selected and in some cases they have existing tenants and just "borrowed" the house for the show.

This RV show is no different and nothing new. It all depends on whether you want to waste a half hour or hour of your life watching 20 minutes of program and 40 minutes of commercials or do something productive like washing your hair.

I have to agree, with the exception of one reality show that is NOT scripted. Cajun Pawn Stars is not scripted and the antics that occurred we strictly created by the cast on the show. How do I know? This Spring we drove to Alexandria, LA and visited them. The people working there are ... real people. However, they also told us that A&E Network was pulling the show unless they got nasty, created conflict, and tossed out the religious overtones. When we visited them, they were unwilling to bend to pre-planned scripting and religion was something they valued to high to stoop to trash television. Well, ever since we got back home from our trip to Louisiana, I've not seen the show on television. Looks like Cajun Pawn Stars got pulled and they were unable to contract with another network.

So yea, I agree 100%. These reality shows are scripted! They're not "real'.
They tried the same thing with Duck Dynasty and were told the prayer at the dinner table stayed and the network could leave if they wanted.

RV Today was the last real RV show on tv. To bad its gone.

Hi we started rving in 2007 and stumbled upon this show one night. We loved it and watched it all the time...even the repeats. I woud love to see a nice calm quiet show about real rvs and rv parks again. Also I loved the 2 cooking ladies. we watched Rock the rv and I hated it. I hate all that loud sreechy awful "music" in the background and the camera flashing all over the place. So many shows have this now...screechy horrible so called music almost to the point of not being able to hear the people talking and that constant flashing camera jumping all over the place.
