RV 2014 TV show

It was on the GAC network on Jan. 1st. Filmed at the Hershey RV show in Sept. For anyone that doesn't know, this has been on for about 4 years or so. They choose 3 families that are interested in a new RV. The host shows them different models to fit their needs/budget. The first couple were 2 guys that didn't have RV experience. They were shown big $$ class A's. Second couple was a man/woman, no experience-they looked at class C's and B's. Last family had 4 kids-looked at towables. I thought that, as usual, the show was not realistic. How many young couples have $100,000 to blow? They never showcase the affordable PUPs and small trailers. Oh well, this time of year, it's welcome to see anything RV.

More than just the prices, I thought the RV's that they showed most of the people were unrealistic for other reasons. Young couple that said they had a baby and wanted a RV for traveling, was only shown one RV that had an appropriate place for a child/infant in car seat. Family with lots of kids said they had a "truck" that they could use to tow, but were shown RV's that would require a "big" truck to tow safely and then where would you put all the kids, especially since almost all would still need to be in carseat/booster seat. Maybe the car seat issue was just on my mind, as my DD and I have discussed the laws requiring children up to age 8 to be in booster seat, and the lack of forward facing seats for carseats/booster seats in many RV's. I am looking for fulltime MH (couple years out still) that I can have grandchildren travel with me some.

So much for the day when everyone tried to squeeze into that double sized passenger seat up in front of the BIG 28 footer!

I love Extreme RVs. Some of the restorations are awesome and the million million dollar rigs are just opulent

Wish HGTV still carried it, don't get GACTV.

Watched the show every year (except this year)I agree show was never a reflection of the average american family...but still though show is fun to watch. Breaks up the winter blues.

Hershey is a great show. Just don't try driving there on the final Saturday morning. Traffic was backed up for 10 miles. Took me 3 hours. I got to the final loop around the building and I was running out of gas and my bladder was about to burst. So I pulled out of the line, went to Sheetz down to street to rectify both situations, then headed home. But I did stop at a beer distributor close by and brought back a case of Yingling. So it wasn't a wasted trip.

Traffic is like that most weekends around there! Gotta go real early to avoid it-and anyone coming from the east should consider doubling back from Harrisburg-and maybe ignoring their GPS and staying on 78 to 81 and avoid 222, 422 and 72. Why'd you buy that Chinese beer instead of the locally brewed Yuengling-that's good stuff!!?? ๐Ÿ˜‰

My husband and I were at this RV show this year. For two days every time we turned around they were filming. There was so much they left on the cutting room floor. They decided to show each family 4 RVs to choose from instead of the typical 3. I think by doing that they didn't have time to show any of the new gadgets etc. They did touch briefly on the Tabs and 30 second popup tents. I was really looking forward to this episode knowing how much they were filming. But sadly they never touched on some of the great RVs and gadgets that were there this year. I was thinking the same thing that it all seemed staged. However,I'm looking forward to next years RV show in Hershey!
