rv freindly HOA in deleware

Hello everyone. My wife and I are considering moving to Sussex County De and we are trying to locate any HOA communities that allow homeowners to store their RV on their property. Are any of you aware if there are any in that area?

I am the VP of my HOA, and as long as you cannot see it, and no one is living in it, it is OK. We have a few in our neighborhood.

Thank you everyone for your replies. dtgunner7 thanks, for your suggestion, we will contact a realtor before we start looking for any homes. We are also planning to search for property that we can build on without a HOA. I apologize to everyone for starting a debate concerning Realtor vs realtor. I'm glad I did not ask a question about Ram vs GM vs Ford.

Well we live in Sussex, DE. checking with a Realtor will get you some answers before you look or buy have Realtor(real estate) get you a copy of the communities rules... It will cut your looking time down..

To maintain clarity and simplicity, let's agree that a "Realtor" (capitalized) is a member of NAR, but a "realtor" (lower case) is not necessarily a member, but does assist in the buying and selling of real estate.

Just as not all good mechanics are NIASE certified, not all real estate offices or agents are NAR members.

Actually this is NOT the rule, but the exception in Idaho and many western states. I would say that at least 90% of the HOAs in the Treasure Valley of Idaho are RV friendly. the ONLY requirement most have is behind a privacy fence and in back of the front wall of the house.

A quick google (I used the term " Sussex County, DE, RV friendly HOAs") showed me you've some possibilities. A R/E broker firm named J. Lingo seemed to have a few listings that might be of interest to you but since I've no idea how big a home you are looking for and know nothing of the county I dinna link any of the listings.

Good luck in your quest, but I too think the odds are against you. HOAs exist to give your neighbors control over you, and usually that means nothing unusual, like junk cars, environmental sculptures, parked boats or RVs.

Beats me why anyone would actually seek out an HOA home. I have always avoided them.

Contact a real estate agent in the area to find an HOA but they will probably have no idea if RV parking is allowed.
Build a life you don't need a vacation from.

HOA's are somewhat rare in Sussex County. You shouldn't have a problem unless you are over by the beach.
They don't call it lower slower DE for no reason. Taxes are great too, or rather the low rate of them.
