Having handled many house fires as an insurance adjuster, it is unlikely that you will be able to remove the cigarette smell yourself. It will probably need to be done professionally. If you really want the chair, contact one of the companies that handle fire restoration. They will have an ozone chamber that will remove the smell. It may not be cheap. I assume you have determined that the chair will fit your unit - does it fit through the door?

Good luck.

Leather may be an especially difficult material to remove smoke smell becaue its porous organic fibers will absorb and hold those stains & odors literally forever!

You can try using a good quality leather cleaning product, then a leather conditioner, let it air out well and maybe you'll find it somewhat better. I doubt you'll ever get the smell out. If it sit in the heat or locked up the a stored RV...the smell may still come out again. In time...you will either get used to it or get rid of it.

If it were me...I'd give it to another smoker and go buy youself a new chair!

I'd not spray it with Febreze because it could damage the material. Febreze works best on cloth fabric not leather.

Try to find a smoker to sell it to and then go buy a new one.
You will most likely never get the smell out.

I would buy a good leather furniture cleaner. With them sitting in it smoking, and all of the smoke, nicotene, and other garbage settled right there on it, you can't just treat it with some smell good stuff, you need to really wash all of the garbage off of it and then retreat the leather.

Look in the phone book for a larger furniture store that sells leather furniture and then go done and talk to them, they prbably sell something. The other idea, again, look in the yellow pages, to find a fire restoration place to see what they recommend. These are the companies that your insurance people will call if you have a fire. They come in to clean the fire damage and clean out all of the fire/smoke smell so they have to clean all of the furniture. If you have a local house insurance agent, call them for who they use.

There is a new way to handle something like this call Curbit. Curbit is when you take something and is unfixable and put it at the curb. It will vanish within 1 hour. Just curbit. It's not worth the trouble. ๐Ÿ™‚
