Old-Biscuit is a rock star! I made him a name tag to wear to the next rally, or he can use it in his signature line!

It was probably all a publicity stunt. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It worked.

I agree. Put your self in Old-Biscuit's position. When on any website one assumes that the email link from something called "Contact" or "Contact Us" would be routed to the correct person or group. But in order to get someone's attention, he was supposed to look at the forum rules?

And if by chance he did and saw the statement:
forum rules wrote:
If you have a concern about a particular moderator or treatment of a post by a moderator, email websitesupport@goodsam.com.
he would have had to first notice the email address websitesupport@goodsam.com, which is not even a link - it isn't in bold font either for that matter.

Secondly, his issue was not a concern about a particular moderator or treatment of a post by a moderator - it was the fact that his account was disabled. So why would he or anyone else with any other issue use that email address for any thing other than to report on the issue the instruction states it is intended for?

Members needing support are not going to look at the forum rules in order to contact someone who can help. I suggest changing the very obvious Contact link at the top of every page to an email address of a person/group that can help in these instances. Who needs to contact the webmaster anyway?

There was at least one more forum member affected. That member is also back now.

When I see Old-Biscuit is the author of a post, I pay closer attention, because I know from experience it is better advice than most.

I am glad you are back, Old-Biscuit!

I'm BACK

ALL of the e-mail addresses I tried were marked 'undeliverable' or 'wrong address' and without being able to log in I had no way of making contact

WHAT'S UP WITH THE BAD/WRONG E-MAIL ADDRESSES?

Quoting Winston Churchill "It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma..." Oh, I think I may have already quoted this earlier?

It's posted in the forums, but somewhat obscure: websitesupport@goodsam.com

If that doesn't work, then I will have to refer you back to Churchill's quote? :B

This is the e-mail address listed under 'Contact' in the border at top right side ------webmaster@rv.net.
It doesn't work.

That other address as you stated is somewhat obscure. So much so I haven't a clue where it is listed. (websitesupport@goodsam.com) ???

It really shouldn't be that difficult to FIND an up to date/working e-mail address for dealing with issues. One that can be accessed and used without having to be registered or logged in.

Maybe this little glitch has shown some areas that need addressed.

This made me curious, so I found that the websitesupport@goodsam.com email address can be found under Forum Rules located on the top right hand corner on the forum page (in the blue strip). You don't have to be logged in to see it or to view the contents on the page.

As quoted on the page, "Attacks on moderators will not be tolerated and may result in an immediate ban. Moderators have to make difficult judgment calls, but remember, they are human. If you have a concern about a particular moderator or treatment of a post by a moderator, email websitesupport@goodsam.com. "

Interesting. I never saw a bad post by old biscuit. He always gave us all good advise with his experience. I have seen really bad posts by others that have never got booted. I have have been critical of Marcus, CW, and GS and still here. I'll miss old biscuit.

Agree.

Old Biscuit had real good information. If some find him obtuse, they should have thicker skin. I looked forward to reading his posts. He will be missed.

Welcome back Old-Biscuit!!!

I too find RV.net forums' software somewhat "out-dated/clunky" in ease of use and performance. However, the forum discussions and information are of course priceless and the overall lack of pictures and videos on the site make it super fast to use ... even with the slow Internet connection speeds when camping out in the middle of nowhere or when using the usual campground "free Internet".

FWIW, I usually consider many abrasive comments by Old-Biscuit, or others, (or myself), as merely Telling-It-Like-It-Is ... and T.I.L.I.S is not a popular way to communicate in these modern times.
