Tires are 2009 made in Mexico should I get new?

Just bought a used trailer. The tires look brand new, even the sidewalls, but the date stamp says late 2009. Since the trailer is a 2010 (hardside popup Chalet, weighs 1500 lbs.), they must be the original tires, I would guess. The guy I bought it from said he'd had it a couple of years and maybe used it a half-dozen times and the original owners had used it twice. There's no obvious sun damage. Do I need to replace these?

IMHO no matter where you live replace tires every 6 years. Because we live in the Phoenix area we replace when the tire turn 4.

My son's tires went in 4 years, with garage storage and proper maintenance. They looked fine when we left - 300 miles down the road they disintegrated.

My tires will never go past 3 years.

Buy new and enjoy your trip. If you have a blow out the body damage will far exceed the cost of the tires. Also your safety and others safety on the road is most important.

A set of new MAXIS tire should be at the top of your shopping list.

They're 14 inch and the GVWR is around 2500, single axle, but I can't imagine weighing it down that much. I travel pretty light.

Anyone have suggestions as to what kind to get?

Depends on what size tire you need.
What is the trailes GVWR ??

I use 44-51 psi P tires on all of my small 7k and under trailers with single axle or tandem axles. Their are no speed restrictions and they last for years without the usual ST tire issues.

Yes,,,get new tires before you go on your first trip. They are now 7 years old and you may not see the dry rot.
