Tires...To Shine or not to Shine??????

Okay so I am a all dressed up rig kinda guy. I like my chrome to sparkle and my paint to shine. Along with that I like the wet look on my tires it kinda goes with the territory. I have read on here that you shouldn't use armor all and the other dressing stuff because it is bad for tires. Is there anything (besides soap and water) that I can put on my tires to make em shine?

Thanks

NEVER use any petroleum product on tires!

Times two- use of such products can even cancel warranty coverage, at least for some brands like Michelin

Tires which become unserviceable due to alterations such as truing, whitewall inlays, addition of balancing or sealant liquids, or the use of tire dressing containing petroleum distillates are excluded from
warranty coverage

Many years ago I used ArmorAll on my motorcycle tires because they looked really good. After a very short amount of time the sidewalls started to crack, which had never happened before I used ArmorAll. I quit using it and the new tires had no issues. I put two and tow together and came to the conclusion that ArmorAll was not good for my motorcycle tires. I've never used anything on them since then, and the problem has never recurred.

I bought into the whole "armor all causes tires to dry rot" thing too. Now on my brand new 2013 Sorento I have never put any kind of tire shine anything on it. And guess what? Two years later, my tires need replacing due to checking.

I'm not sure I buy into the whole armor all causing dry rot deal now...

I used armor all for 20 years before 2012 with NEVER a problem or a brown tire.

Thanks!

I use Aerospace 303 on my trailer's decals. Does it provide any shine for tires?

303 for me too.

I also use Bass Boat Saver on my fiberglass rv. Works very well.

I've been using liquuid floor wax since the early 60's. Works well, is cheap and looks great.

OK, here is one we used as kids, mix sugar and water, put on tires and they will shine when dry. Now may attract ants and bees so "bee" careful:)
I'm sure if you "google" it something will come up on the amounts to use 🙂 🙂

I used to use Zep Tire Shine.... now I use Ardex Tire Shine... I have been using it a few years now with good results...

I`ve used Armorall and other tire shine protectants with never an issue! I too like my truck and trailer to stand out! I use what ever I find on sale that works.
