Just refilled one 30# propane tank from the 5th wheel last Saturday at Redi Rental on S. Beechtree St in Grand Haven, MI and the cost was $14.99 cash or credit. $9.99 for 20# tanks. It's a 2nd Saturday of every month constant special. Their punch card system isn't in effect during refilling on these Saturdays at these prices. Be smart, plan and save!
Other way they work the rest of the month is with a punch card to save: If you refill 1 - 20# tank or a 30# tank it gives you one punch on your card. 2 - 30# tanks and you get 3 punches. after 4 punches on the card, the next 20# tank refill is free which is actually a good deal too. The punch card keeps the same people coming back for more propane refills. Good thinking!
Owner said it's shown to be cheaper for him, quicker, smarter, and greatly increased his propane sales to have hired designated part time employees on a given Saturday stationed constantly at the propane area refilling tanks all day long efficiently on one day. Rather than having more employees constantly in the store with some standing around much of the time. No having additional constantly, when a some refills are wanted during normal 8-6 busy hours, the store ends up with either too many or not enough staff left inside.
Explained that as normal, the want for propane refilling varies greatly by weather and season and time of day or when customers show up. They may have less than 10 on one day or rainy day or maybe way over 100 on a different day. On busy propane refilling days, there went the staff from inside the store and left the inside customers standing around and getting aggravated.
If you think about it, a very smart remedy! Also gives high school kids and college kids some part time work which is a plus.
I was the 3rd one in line at about 9:30am and was refilled and drove away in no more than 10 minutes including paying the bill. One of the workers comes to your vehicle and takes your tank for you to the refill shelter while you watch and then brings it back filled and puts it back in your vehicle. You never have to touch your tank when there. Sure have won our business! Nice added customer service very appreciated and a great price too! We both win/won bigtime!
