Who has a Drone they take Camping?

I know drones are a bit of a two way street, some people love them and others hate them. Admittedly they can be noisy and a nuisance if flown in the wrong place. In many places they are often restricted from flying for various reasons. That being said, they are going to be part of our future in one form or another.

There are times when having a drone to take some pictures unobtainable the usual way is handy and quite fun. It can also be handy to do some basic scouting if say a particular stretch of off highway road looks troublesome and you aren't certain how far it stretches.

I have yet to take my own drone (Parrot Bebop 2) flying with me while camping but I anticipate I'll probably do it on my next trip. Does anyone else have a drone they take with them while camping and if so, what have you used it for and what precautions do you take to not upset others?

Drones are fun and I wouldnโ€™t mind having one myself. It flying them in and around RVs isnโ€™t the place to fly them.

Donโ€™t have a drone, but theyโ€™re cool.

So it would be really "fun" for a drone to crash into your RV or truck and damage it?

You are going to be laughing all the way to the RV repair facility as you get your checkbook out to pay for it?

How about they break your skylight and then it starts pouring rain? Sooo funny!!! Please post the pictures of the big smile on your face when it happens.

Drones may be fun...but not in the campground around others RV's or vehicles.

Better ban anything that moves near your RV, it could get damaged. Judging by your user name you want people to look in your RV just no pictures?

Judging by your name you are a 6 year old "boy" living on a farm?

How did you know I was only 6 ?

In all of my travels, I have NEVER been annoyed by a drone. I've seen them only 3-4 times.

Can anyone cite specific times that drones have annoyed you? Has anyone actually had a drone hovering outside their window?

Well, we got 13 pages out of it so far. They obviously won't be literally shot out of the sky, they will just be banned in more and more places.

A good number of people in here are probably responsible drone operators but like anything else it's the type that I experienced that ruin it for all.

When you look at the number of politicians, clergy, celebrities and the everyday guys who are molesting kids. You know good and well there a sheet loads of idiots out there peeping and doing stupid stuff with drones.

There is no doubt that they will be used extensively to cut costs in numerous areas and that's good. The problem for you guys is that it's going to push you into using them in very limited areas. If Amazon and others are sending out swarms of delivery bees they will will all be able to know where each other are at. There won't be any room for dipsticks to be messing things up.

It is interesting to see how rapidly they have advanced and it will be interesting to see how business uses it. We went from horses carrying mail to email but many small items that go by USPS or ups could easily be delivered by drone. Not necessarily everything but there are many places were a delivery truck is extremely inefficient. So people don't hate drones because they are drones, we just hate the idiot that's flying it.

I toss skydivers out of the bus for giggles, thereโ€™s a grumpy old drunk a mile or so north of the airport who calls every year on a hot sunny weekend around beer oโ€™clock and tells whoever answers the phone that โ€˜if the planes keep buzzing around 50โ€™ over his head heโ€™s going to shoot them downโ€™.

Same routine every time, the police pay him a visit, he has no firearms, he claims he never called, then goes off on a rant about the planes โ€˜about to take his TV antenna offโ€™ and the police point out that the plane is at least a 1,000โ€™ up.........

I know the drill. The little airport I fly out of has a farm on runway heading a ways out. He ought the land and built a house and his barn knowing the airport was there. Then goes to court to get the airport shut down because the planes scare the horses. Funny thing is the horses don't even look up or stop eating when you fly over. Same mind set.

The problem isn't a drone passing over at two or three hundred feet up. It's a problem when some horses azz wants to circle your RV and hover at window height. This happens when parked far from anyone else so there is no need to even get near us. They are sick perverts or brain dead.
Per federal regulation, drones are not to be operated over people. They give up any privileges they might have had if operated illegally.

So then by your logic youโ€™re ok with forfeiting your vehicle if caught speeding?

You are trying to talk logic to people who don't want to hear logic. They have limited facts about drones, they have made up their minds and your beating a dead horse. Save your energy, fly your drone and enjoy, life is to short.

Your attempt at a strawman fails.

Is one of those privileges not being shot down? ๐Ÿ™‚

Drone, no. 357, yes.

You would like to ban all drones because some people abuse the right but somehow you don't agree with that same reasoning when someone shoots up a school. Funny how the mind works. I wonder what the statistics are on death by drone? I have guns and drones, call me conflicted.
